Study on vibration characteristics and stability of steam turbine vanes with large capacity

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2016
A vane used in a low pressure end of steam turbine is usually fixed to an inner shroud and an outer ring by welding both ends. In such a vane structure, the damping in loading operation is comprised of the material damping and the aerodynamic damping ...

Study on identification of modal parameters of turbomachinery blade and impeller

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2020
To develop turbomachinery blades with high reliability, it is indispensable to verify the natural frequency, the damping, the resonant stress, etc. under operating condition, and utilize these data in the mechanical design of a new blade.

Intentional mistuning optimization of nonlinear mistuned bladed-disks

open access: yes, 2022
One major industrial challenge is to consider the detuning as a technological means to reduce the dynamical amplifications induced by mistuning. A full analysis of the detuning optimization of mistuned bladed-disks with finite displacements is carried out on a 12 bladed-disk finite element model.

Enhanced Contour‐Deviant Mismatch Negativity and Mnemonic Representations in Older Musicians

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neuroscience, Volume 63, Issue 12, June 2026.
Data showed enhanced MMN amplitudes in aging adult musicians compared with nonmusicians. Given that enhancements in MMN responses may be an indicator of preserved sensory processing in aging, music training may insulate age‐related decreases in sensory processing through preserved fidelity of encoding auditory information.

Blended Support of Attachment in Families: A Case Study of FamilieLink

open access: yesJournal of Family Therapy, Volume 48, Issue 2, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Attachment ruptures, when children struggle to trust in parental availability and support, are linked to increased risk of psychopathology. Preventing or repairing these ruptures is important for fostering secure attachment and promoting family mental health.

Study on optimal design of mistuned bladed disk

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2018
Although, in designing blades, it is assumed that all blades on a disk are identical (tuned system), the vibration characteristics of the blade is slightly different due to the manufacturing tolerance, the deviation of the material property, and so on ...

Study on the Inertial Detuning Mechanism and Nonlinear Vibration in a Biaxially Prestretched Dielectric Elastomer Actuator

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
An anomalous dynamic phenomenon—unforeseen thickness elongation in biaxially prestretched dielectric elastomer actuators (DEAs) under sinusoidal voltage excitation—is investigated here. Unlike quasi‐static predictions where the material remains compressed throughout the cycle, this phenomenon exhibits alternating compression and elongation within each ...

Study on vibration response characteristics of turbine blade for turbo-charger

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2019
In the mechanical design of a turbine blade for an automotive turbo-charger, it is pointed out that the mistuning effect caused by the difference of the casting condition should be considered.

Inter‐Stimulus‐Interval Dependence in Auditory Cortex Reflects Perceptual Organization of Streams Under Informational Masking

open access: yesPsychophysiology, Volume 62, Issue 12, December 2025.
ABSTRACT The perceptual saliency of a regular sound sequence embedded into a well‐chosen multi‐tone‐masker background fluctuates despite the absence of change in the physical stimulus. When such tone streams are perceived, each tone of the stream evokes a negative‐going response referred to as awareness‐related negativity (ARN).
