Emergency embolectomy for acute middle cerebral artery occlusion with chronic common carotid artery occlusion

open access: yesRadiology Case Reports, 2020
Occurrence of acute middle cerebral artery occlusion with common carotid artery occlusion is rare, and its treatment may be complicated. If the approach route cannot be secured because of carotid artery occlusion, endovascular embolectomy may not be ...

XXV años de Trabajo Social. El aniversario como rito de pasaje [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009

Nanothermometry in Living Cells: Physical Limits, Conceptual and Material Challenges

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Heat and temperature are fundamental to life. When nanothermometers began probing regions as small as a living cell, they triggered controversial claims of large intracellular temperature gradients. We review physical constraints energy‐conservation, entropy production, thermodynamic fluctuations, and molecular dynamics.

Asymptomatic hepatic pseudoaneurysm identified 25 days after knife injury: a case report

open access: yesSurgical Case Reports, 2023
Background Hepatic pseudoaneurysm (HPA) is a rare complication that can occur after liver trauma and carries a high risk of rupture. HPA is usually asymptomatic until rupture, so performing routine surveillance of liver trauma patients is important. Most

Changes in Body Weight and Serum Albumin Levels in Patients Requiring Home Long-term Oxygen Therapy

open access: yesAsian/Pacific Island Nursing Journal, 2021
Purpose: To investigate the long-term changes in body weight and serum albumin levels in patients with respiratory failure, and those with chronic heart failure, who were treated with home long-term oxygen therapy (LTOT) to understand the current status ...

NMR study of the Superconducting gap variation near the Mott transition in Cs$_{3}$C$_{60}$

open access: yes, 2014
Former extensive studies of superconductivity in the \textit{A}$_{3}$C$_{60}$ compounds, where \textit{A} is an alkali, have led to consider that Bardeen Cooper Schrieffer (BCS) electron-phonon pairing prevails in those compounds, though the incidence of

Gapless Magnetic and Quasiparticle Excitations due to the Coexistence of Antiferromagnetism and Superconductivity in CeRhIn$_5$ : A study of $^{115}$In-NQR under Pressure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We report systematic measurements of ac-susceptibility, nuclear-quadrupole-resonance spectrum, and nuclear-spin-lattice-relaxation time ($T_1$) on the pressure ($P$)- induced heavy-fermion (HF) superconductor CeRhIn$_5$.

Light Activated Induction of Cuproptosis in Resistant Cancer Cells Using Polymeric BODIPY Nanoparticles for Photoactivated Chemotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents a photo‐responsive nanoparticle platform that precisely triggers copper‐dependent cuproptotic cell death in (drug‐resistant) cancer cells. The system remains stable and inactive in the dark but releases cytotoxic species upon red‐light irradiation, achieving potent activity in drug‐resistant breast cancer cells.

Insulinoma presenting with anti-insulin antibodies

open access: yesEndocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism Case Reports
An 89-year-old woman presented with a 6-year history of occasional episodes of impaired consciousness that were relieved by ingestion of a snack. Three months before presenting to our hospital, she had been hospitalized in a local hospital with subdural ...
