Impact of mitochondrial lipid alterations on liver disease mechanisms and progression
Lipids are intricate biomolecules responsible for the building up of biological membranes. Besides this structural function, they also display crucial roles in signaling, acting as second messengers that activate specific pathways.

MITOCHONDRIAL CHANGES IN THE KIDNEY AND LIVER OT MICE INDUCED BY OCHRATOXIN A - AN ELECTRONMICROSCOPIC STUDY [PDF]
Ultrastructural changes of renal and hepatic mitochondria in mice induced by OA were studied. Mitrochondria exhibited diverse morphological aberrations. The outer mitochondria) membranes, cristae and matrix were affected. The changes were more prominent

A bimetallic Mn–Ca nanoreactor (MCC) is developed as a non‐nucleotide STING nanoagonist for cancer metalloimmunotherapy. MCC induces Ca2+ overload and hydroxyl radical generation, resulting in mitochondrial damage and mtDNA release. The released mtDNA cooperates with Mn2+ to robustly activate cGAS–STING signaling.

Role of the Mitochondrial Genome During Early Development in Mice [PDF]
The role of the mitochondrial genome in early development and differentiation was studied in mouse embryos cultured in vitro from the two to four cell stage to the blastocyst (about 100 cells).

The cGAS‐STING pathway boosts HCC antitumor immunity but lacks specific activation. Nanoplatform ZMRPF induces HCC ferroptosis via lipid ROS, releasing mtDNA. It synergizes with ZMRPF‐released Mn2⁺ to activate cGAS‐STING, amplifies antigen‐presenting cell activity, reverses HCC immunosuppression, and enables robust systemic antitumor immunity ...
