Long-read sequencing for diagnosis of genetic myopathies
Genetic myopathies are caused by pathogenic variants in >300 genes across the nuclear and mitochondrial genomes. Although short-read next-generation sequencing (NGS) has revolutionised the diagnosis of genetic disorders, large and/or complex genetic ...

ColVI myopathies: where do we stand, where do we go?
Collagen VI myopathies, caused by mutations in the genes encoding collagen type VI (ColVI), represent a clinical continuum with Ullrich congenital muscular dystrophy (UCMD) and Bethlem myopathy (BM) at each end of the spectrum, and less well-defined ...

Proteomic Profiling of Myofiber Repair Annexins and Their Role in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy
ABSTRACT Myofiber regeneration and membrane repair play crucial roles in maintaining the continuous physiological functioning of the neuromuscular system. A swift and efficient repair mechanism enables the rapid restoration of sarcolemmal integrity following cellular impairment in damaged skeletal muscles.

The multiple ADP/ATP translocase genes are differentially expressed during human muscle development [PDF]
The expression of the genes encoding the three isoforms of the human ADP/ATP translocase (T1, T2, and T3) has been analyzed at different stages of myogenic differentiation in an in vitro muscle cell system and compared with that in mature muscle.

Proteostasis ensures proper protein folding, modification, and degradation, while its impairment triggers ER stress. Chronic ER stress and maladaptive UPR via the CHOP–ERO1 axis remodel ERMCs, altering calcium signaling and mitochondrial metabolism.

Biogenesis of TNF‐α‐insights into proteostasis and inflammation
TNF‐α biogenesis, trafficking, and signalling are tightly and reciprocally coupled to cellular proteostasis systems, including ER chaperones and endoplasmic reticulum‐associated degradation. This bidirectional crosstalk determines whether TNF‐α responses are adaptive or proteotoxic.
