Far‐infrared irradiation attenuates platelet‐derived growth factor‐stimulated vascular smooth muscle cell migration through protein phosphatase 2A‐mediated Akt inhibition

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
FIR irradiation enhances the physical association between Akt and PP2Ac in VSMCs, independent of the hyperthermal effect of FIR rays. The increased binding between Akt and PP2Ac induced by FIR irradiation facilitates the dephosphorylation of Akt at Ser473.

Inhibition of P‐glycoprotein using photoimmunotherapy in peritoneal metastasis mouse model

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
Photoimmunotherapy (PIT) using photoimmunoconjugates (PICs) can inhibit the function of the ATP‐binding cassette (ABC) transporter P‐glycoprotein (P‐gp) in a mouse model of peritoneal carcinomatosis. Sterile‐filtered PIC was administered in vivo via intraperitoneal (IP) injection 20 days after IP tumor cell implantation of P‐gp‐overexpressing NCI/ADR ...

Identification of Novel Therapeutic Agent Candidates Through High Throughput Screening With Chemical Library Based on Molecular Subclassification in Canine Histiocytic Sarcoma Cell Lines

open access: yesVeterinary and Comparative Oncology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Effective chemotherapy for canine histiocytic sarcoma (CHS) has yet to be established. In our previous study, CHS cell lines were subclassified into two groups based on their gene expression profiles: Group A and Group B. This study aimed to identify novel therapeutic agents that are effective against each CHS subgroup, and we performed high ...

Vision outcomes in dogs with primary glaucoma surgically treated with lensectomy and endolaser cyclophotocoagulation after an Ahmed valve gonioimplantation failure

open access: yesVeterinary Ophthalmology, Volume 28, Issue 2, Page 207-217, March 2025.
Abstract Objective The aim of this study was to retrospectively evaluate vision outcomes of dogs with primary angle closure glaucoma (PACG) that underwent Ahmed valve gonioimplantation (AVG) followed by lensectomy and endolaser cyclophotocoagulation (ECP) with or without bleb resection after AVG failure.

Ectonucleotidases CD39 and CD73 expression levels are independent and inverse predictors of survival in muscle‐invasive bladder cancer

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology: Clinical Research, Volume 12, Issue 4, July 2026.
Abstract Bladder cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer‐related mortality worldwide. Long‐term survival is particularly poor in patients with muscle‐invasive bladder cancer (MIBC). Modulation of purinergic signaling through the ectonucleotidases CD39 and CD73 has emerged as a promising therapeutic strategy in cancer medicine.

Successful treatment of post-intubation tracheal stenosis with balloon dilation, argon plasma coagulation, electrocautery and application of mitomycin C

open access: yesSouthwest Respiratory and Critical Care Chronicles, 2015
Tracheal stenosis is an uncommon but known complication of endotracheal intubation and tracheostomy. Surgery is currently the definitive treatment for tracheal stenosis but carries a significantly higher risk for adverse events as it often involves ...
