Mitomycins syntheses: a recent update [PDF]

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2009
Mitomycins are a class of very potent antibacterial and anti-cancer compounds having a broad activity against a range of tumours. They have been used in clinics since the 1960’s, and the challenges represented by their total synthesis have challenged generations of chemists.

A systematic study on the chemical stability of mitomycin A and mitomycin B.

open access: yesChemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 1986
The kinetics and mechanisms of the degradation of mitomycin A and mitomycin B in aqueous solution were investigated by means of ultraviolet (UV) spectrophotometry and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The influences of pH, buffers and temperature on the degradation were quantified.

Mitomycin C in ophthalmology

open access: yesJournal of the Scientific Society, 2012
Introduction to the use of Mitomycin C in ophthalmology was a significant development in the 1960s. Its use and application in ophthalmology has been increasing in recent years, because of its modulatory effects on wound healing. Current applications of this drug in ophthalmology include pterygium surgery, glaucoma surgery, corneal refractive surgery ...

Mitomycin C in pterygium treatment

open access: yesInternational Journal of Ophthalmology, 2016
Pterygium is a benign lesion usually growing from the nasal side of the conjunctiva onto the cornea. Most cases of pterygium does not cause problem or requires specific treatment. The exact cause of pterygium is not clear yet, but some factors are pointed as causes, being the most important the long-term ultraviolet ray exposure.
