A Large Retrospective Study to Evaluate Utility of Zephyr Covered Stent in Transcatheter Closure of Sinus Venosus Defects

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, Volume 108, Issue 5, Page 1808-1817, November 1, 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Transcatheter closure (TCC) of sinus venosus defects (SVD) using balloon‐expandable covered stents is an emerging alternative to surgery. ZephyrCS (Sahajanand Laser Technologies, Gandhinagar, India) is available in long lengths to suit SVD closure.

A Rare Case Report of Type II Kounis Syndrome With Literature Review: Acute Anterior ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction Following Bee Sting

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 11, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Kounis syndrome (KS), also known as allergic angina, is a rare but serious condition defined by acute coronary syndrome occurring alongside a hypersensitivity reaction. We report the case of a 42‐year‐old male smoker who developed Type II KS after a hymenoptera sting.

Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy With Superimposed Pre‐Eclampsia in a Grand Multiparous Woman

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 11, November 2026.
ABSTRACT This case report highlights the importance of clinical vigilance, the role of echocardiography, and the benefits of guideline‐directed multidisciplinary management of pregnant women with HCM in resource‐limited settings. Advocating for comprehensive multidisciplinary care models is essential in optimizing maternal and fetal health outcomes ...

Diagnostic Pitfall: Mixed Connective Tissue Disease‐Associated Pulmonary Hypertension Presenting With Postpartum Right‐Sided Heart Failure in a 21‐Year‐Old—Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 11, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Mixed connective tissue disease is a multisystem autoimmune condition characterized by overlapping clinical and serological features related to anti‐U1‐RNP antibodies of at least two connective tissue diseases. It may present with myocarditis, pericarditis, pulmonary arterial hypertension, and, less commonly, heart failure.

Unraveling the Relationship Between Nr4a2 and Fezf1 Expression in the Developing Feline Telencephalon Within the Genoarchitectonic Context of Claustral and Amygdalar Development

open access: yesJournal of Comparative Neurology, Volume 534, Issue 11, November 2026.
To define the emergence of the claustral complex in relation to the expression patterns of Nr4a2 and Fezf1 in the domestic cat, a species with more protracted prenatal development than the mouse, we performed a genoarchitectonic analysis. Nr4a2 marked differentiating claustral neurons within the LPall mantle, whereas Fezf1 was broadly expressed in the ...

Effect of Wall Motion Sampling on CFD‐Derived Left Atrial Flow Metrics

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Biomedical Engineering, Volume 42, Issue 11, November 2026.
This study quantifies how the temporal resolution of medical imaging affects patient‐specific CFD predictions of left atrial flow. Comparing high‐resolution reference motion with undersampled reconstructions, we show that ≥$$ \ge $$ 20 frames per cardiac cycle yield improved quantitative accuracy for LAA stasis metrics, while lower temporal resolutions

The durability of different anchoring points and anchoring types in the left ventricle in an ex vivo porcine model [PDF]

open access: yesClin Physiol Funct Imaging
Abstract Objective Surgical mitral valve repair, including anchoring in different parts of the mitral apparatus, is the standard of care for severe mitral regurgitation. Various percutaneous approaches have been developed and are currently under development, but are struggling with durable results.
