The Combined Double-Orifice and Single-Patch Technique for Partial Atrioventricular Septal Defect in Adults: A Novel Strategy. [PDF]
Aim The aim of this study is to share our experience of the combined double‐orifice and single‐patch technique for the correction of partial atrioventricular septal defect (pAVSD) and its associated tricuspid valve dysplasia (TVD). Methods Between January 2014 and May 2024, 99 patients (age ≥ 18 years) who underwent repair of pAVSD and its associated ...

Background: In this study, we examine the outcomes of tricuspid valve repair against non-repair to see if there is a near-term progression of non-corrected moderate functional TR in patients who had mitral valve replacement for rheumatic mitral disease ...

Ring-first Mitral Valve Repair [PDF]
Mitral valve repair is one of the most frequent interventions in cardiac surgery. It involves eliminating the dysfunctional part(s) of the mitral valve and reconstructing, using the residual tissue or with the addition of prosthetic components, a ...

Mitral Valve Fenestration as a Rare Cause of Congenital Mitral Insufficiency Successfully Repaired
A rare case of congenital mitral insufficiency characterized by a fenestration in the anterior leaflet of mitral valve is reported. At operation, the mitral valve was successfully repaired by closure of unusual valvular tissue orifice with bovine ...

Tricuspid valve annuloplasty and mitral valve replacement are associated with bradyarrhythmia after mitral valve surgery [PDF]
AbstractIntroductionMitral valve surgery has developed into a strong subspecialty of cardiac surgery with operative techniques and outcomes constantly improving. The development of bradyarrhythmias after mitral valve surgery is not completely understood.MethodsWe investigated a cohort of 797 patients requiring mitral valve surgery with and without ...

Durability of mitral valve reconstruction using the cosgrove edwards annuloplasty band at 5 years : From 23rd World Congress of the World Society of Cardio-Thoracic Surgeons. Split, Croatia. 12-15 September 2013 [PDF]
Oral presentation: 23rd World Congress of the World Society of Cardio-Thoracic Surgeons. Split, Croatia. 12-15 September 2013. Background: In the past, questions have been raised, whether an open flexible annuloplasty band can reliably prevent recurrent

Mitral valve repair without mitral annuloplasty with extensive mitral annular calcification [PDF]
In mitral valve repair, removal of mitral annular calcification (MAC) is necessary to secure the artificial ring but may cause rupture of the left ventricle or injury to the circumflex coronary artery. We experienced 3 cases of mitral valve regurgitation with extensive MAC. Patient 1, an 83-year old woman, had P1-P2 prolapse due to tendon rupture.
