Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Ground state solutions of nonlocal equations with variable exponents and mixed criticality

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems
In this article, we use approximation techniques and variational methods to study a class of nonlocal equations with variable exponents and mixed criticality. We prove the existence of the ground state nontrivial solutions with the least energy.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

On the Safety of Mixed-Criticality Scheduling

open access: yes, 2016
International audienceA common assumption for scheduling mixed-criticality systems is the degradation of less critical tasks when the system is in the emergency mode; which is entered when critical tasks overrun their expected WCET.

Transmission scheduling for mixed-critical multi-user multiple-input and multiple-output industrial cyber-physical systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2017
Wireless sensor networks are widely used in industrial cyber-physical system installations, where high reliability and the need for real-time data are the two main characteristics. A large amount of real-time data can be transmitted to its destination on

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Towards Compositional Mixed-Criticality Real-Time Scheduling in Open Systems

open access: yes, 2015
Although many cyber-physical systems are both mixed-criticality system and compositional system, there are little work on intersection of mixed-criticality system and compositional system.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Sustainability in Mixed-Criticality Scheduling

open access: yes, 2017
Sustainability is a formalization of the requirement for scheduling algorithms and schedulability tests that a system deemed to be correctly schedulable should remain so if its runtime behavior is better than anticipated.
