Chaos at the border of criticality
The present paper points out to a novel scenario for formation of chaotic attractors in a class of models of excitable cell membranes near an Andronov-Hopf bifurcation (AHB).

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Integrating Multi-Level Mixed-Criticality into MCTS for Robust Resource Management [PDF]
Managing actions with uncertain resource costs is a complex challenge, particularly in autonomous robot mission planning. Robots are often assigned multiple objectives with varying criticality levels, ranging from catastrophic to minor impacts, where ...

Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

The mixed spin-(1/2, S) Ising model on the union jack (centered square) lattice is investigated by establishing the mapping relationship with its corresponding eight-vertex model. An interplay between the nearest-neighbour interaction, the competing next-

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Ground state solutions of nonlocal equations with variable exponents and mixed criticality
In this article, we use approximation techniques and variational methods to study a class of nonlocal equations with variable exponents and mixed criticality. We prove the existence of the ground state nontrivial solutions with the least energy.

This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Unconventional Quantum Criticality due to Critical Valence Transition
Quantum criticality due to the valence transition in some Yb-based heavy fermion metals has gradually turned out to play a crucial role to understand the non-Fermi liquid properties that cannot be understood from the conventional quantum criticality ...
