ESOMICS: ML-Based Timing Behavior Analysis for Efficient Mixed-Criticality System Design

open access: yesIEEE Access
In Mixed-Criticality (MC) systems, due to encountering multiple Worst-Case Execution Times (WCETs) for each task corresponding to the system operation modes, estimating appropriate WCETs for tasks in lower-criticality (LO) modes is essential to improve ...

Partitioning algorithm for mixed criticality systems

open access: yes, 2015
Mixed criticality systems are composed of a set of applications with di erent criticality levels. The interest relies on the possibility of running these applications on a single processor, with advantages on cost, size, weight and energy consumption. The use of partitioning for developing these kinds of systems is a suitable approach.

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

HSP-V: Hypervisor-Less Static Partitioning for RISC-V COTS Platforms

open access: yesIEEE Access
Virtualization technology has played a pivotal role in consolidating Mixed-Criticality Systems (MCS) onto a single computing platform. However, not all RISC-V processors present in Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) platforms feature the so called ...

A toolset for the development of mixed-criticality partitioned systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The development of mixed-criticality virtualized multi-core systems poses new challenges that are being subject of active research work. There is an additional complexity: it is now required to identify a set of partitions, and allocate applications to ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Providing spatial isolation for Mixed-Criticality Systems

open access: yesJournal of Systems Architecture
This work is situated in the domain of hard real-time systems subject to stringer timing constraints, which find industrial applications in many safety-critical sectors, such as the avionics and space. In such critical domains, minimizing the risk of interference among different com- ponents of the same system is mandatory, and to this end, different ...

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.
