Scheduling Complex Cyber-Physical Systems with Mixed-Criticality Components

open access: yesSystems, 2023
Two emerging trends for designing a complex, cyber-physical systems are the component-based and mixed-criticality (MC) approaches. A component-based approach independently develops individual components and subsequently integrates them to reduce system ...

A Compiler and Language Support for Designing Mixed-Criticality Applications [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Universal Computer Science, 2021
Coexistence of software components and functions of different criticality in a single computing platform has challenged the safety community for the past two decades.

Criticality analysis of pyrochemical reprocessing apparatuses for mixed uranium-plutonium nitride spent nuclear fuel using the MCU-FR and MCNP program codes

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology, 2023
A preliminary criticality analysis for novel pyrochemical apparatuses for the reprocessing of mixed uranium-plutonium nitride spent nuclear fuel from the BREST-OD-300 reactor was performed.

Critical Properties of the Mixed Ising Ferromagnet

open access: yesJournal of Physics C: Solid State Physics, 1980
A real-space rescaling method is applied to the mixed-bond, spin--½, Ising model. The system comprises bonds JA, JB with probability p, 1-p respectively. We restrict our attention to the mixed ferromagnet for which JA, JB > 0. Critical curves, Tc versus p, can be obtained for all α ≡ JB/JA and we present results for the square lattice for α = 1,2,5,10,∞

Simulation of Mixed Critical In-Vehicular Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Future automotive applications ranging from advanced driver assistance to autonomous driving will largely increase demands on in-vehicular networks. Data flows of high bandwidth or low latency requirements, but in particular many additional communication relations will introduce a new level of complexity to the in-car communication system.

Service Improvements in Real-Time Uniprocessor Scheduling With Single Errors

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Mixed-criticality scheduling in modern deeply embedded mission and safety-critical systems needs to consider delivered service, that is, the runtime in low criticality mode.

Mixed-State Long-Range Order and Criticality from Measurement and Feedback

open access: yesPRX Quantum, 2023
We propose a general framework for using local measurements, local unitaries, and nonlocal classical communication to construct quantum channels, which can efficiently prepare mixed states with long-range quantum order or quantum criticality.

Learning-Oriented QoS- and Drop-Aware Task Scheduling for Mixed-Criticality Systems

open access: yesComputers, 2022
In Mixed-Criticality (MC) systems, multiple functions with different levels of criticality are integrated into a common platform in order to meet the intended space, cost, and timing requirements in all criticality levels.

Performance Optimization of Control Applications on Fog Computing Platforms Using Scheduling and Isolation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In this paper, we address mixed-criticality applications characterized by their safety criticality and time-dependent performance, which are virtualized on a Fog Computing Platform (FCP).
