Photo-fermentative hydrogen production from mixed substrate by mixed bacteria

International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, 2014
Photo-fermentative H2 production by mixed bacteria and pure bacterium Rhodopseudomonas faecalis RLD-53 using single and mixed substrate as carbon source was investigated in batch culture. Experimental results showed that 60 mmol/L acetate was the optimal concentration for mixed bacterial H 2 production and maximum cumulative H2 volume was 2468 ± 123 mL

Monitoring of mixed culture fermentations

2022

Hydrogen supersaturation in thermophilic mixed culture fermentation

International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, 2012
Abstract Hydrogen concentration is important for the metabolic distribution in mixed culture fermentation (MCF) but hydrogen supersaturation is often ignored. In this study, hydrogen supersaturation in thermophilic MCF was investigated online by a membrane inlet mass spectrometry.

Whey Alcohol Fermentation with Mixed Yeast Cultures

2009 3rd International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedical Engineering, 2009
This paper study the process of whey alcohol fermentation with mixed yeasts cultures. After the experiments of strains combination, the yeast strains of Saccharomyces uvarum TY-3, Saccharomyces uvarum TY-1 and Saccharomyces carlsbergensis AY-5 were selected and mixed at the ratio of 5.0:2.5:2.5.

Mixed Cultures in Industrial Fermentation Processes

1978
Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the scope and possibilities of mixed culture. It also reviews the role of mixed cultures in traditional processes and defines the various types of microbial interactions. The chapter then illustrates the interactions in mixed microbial systems, specific mixed cultures, recently developed for single-cell ...
