Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Adaptation of a β-1,3-Glucanase Assay to Microplate Format

open access: yesBioTechniques, 1997
A method is described for performance of a β-1,3-glucanase assay in microplates. The adaptation to microassay format has been made possible through the availability of heat-stable microplates.

Parallel Optimal Calibration of Mixed-Format Items for Achievement Tests

open access: yesPsychometrika
When large achievement tests are conducted regularly, items need to be calibrated before being used as operational items in a test. Methods have been developed to optimally assign pretest items to examinees based on their abilities. Most of these methods, however, are intended for situations where examinees arrive sequentially to be assigned to ...

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Estimation of magnitudes and numerosity in different formats of stimulus presentation: the numerical ratio effect

open access: yesРоссийский психологический журнал, 2022
Introduction. Several researchers discuss the possibility of existence of a common mental system responsible for the estimation of both discrete numerosities and continuous magnitudes. The numerical ratio effect observed during comparison tasks is one of
