On small Mixed Pattern Ramsey numbers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We call the minimum order of any complete graph so that for any coloring of the edges by $k$ colors it is impossible to avoid a monochromatic or rainbow triangle, a Mixed Ramsey number.

Some identities for enumerators of circulant graphs

open access: yes, 2001
We establish analytically several new identities connecting enumerators of different types of circulant graphs of prime, twice prime and prime-squared orders.

Coloring Mixed and Directional Interval Graphs

open access: yes, 2023
A mixed graph has a set of vertices, a set of undirected egdes, and a set of directed arcs. A proper coloring of a mixed graph $G$ is a function $c$ that assigns to each vertex in $G$ a positive integer such that, for each edge $uv$ in $G$, $c(u) \ne c(v)$ and, for each arc $uv$ in $G$, $c(u) < c(v)$. For a mixed graph $G$, the chromatic number $χ(G)

Bivariate Chromatic Polynomials of Mixed Graphs

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2023
The bivariate chromatic polynomial $\chi_G(x,y)$ of a graph $G = (V, E)$, introduced by Dohmen-P\"{o}nitz-Tittmann (2003), counts all $x$-colorings of $G$ such that adjacent vertices get different colors if they are $\le y$. We extend this notion to mixed graphs, which have both directed and undirected edges.

From lactation to malignancy: A comparison between healthy and cancerous breast gland at single‐cell resolution reveals new issues for tumorigenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Single‐cell RNA sequencing reveals an opposite role of SLPI in basal tumors based on metastatic spread, along with shared activation of specific regulons in cancer cells and mature luminal lactocytes, as well as downregulation of MALAT1 and NEAT1 in the latter.

A Geometric Property of the Laplacian matrix of a Connected Nonsingular Mixed Graph

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, 2020
In this paper, we give a geometric interpretation of the Laplacian matrix of a connected nonsingular mixed graph which generalizes the results of M. Fiedler (M. Fiedler, Geometry of the Laplacian, Linear Algebra Appl., 2005, 403: 409–413).

Asymptotic dynamics of coined quantum walks on percolation graphs

open access: yes, 2012
Quantum walks obey unitary dynamics: they form closed quantum systems. The system becomes open if the walk suffers from imperfections represented as missing links on the underlying basic graph structure, described by dynamical percolation.

Plasmodium falciparum gametogenesis essential protein 1 (GEP1) is a transmission‐blocking target

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study shows Plasmodium falciparum GEP1 is vital for activating sexual stages of malarial parasites even independently of a mosquito factor. Knockout parasites completely fail gamete formation even when a phosphodiesterase inhibitor is added. Two single‐nucleotide polymorphisms (V241L and S263P) are found in 12%–20% of field samples.

Chemoresistome mapping in individual breast cancer patients unravels diversity in dynamic transcriptional adaptation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study used longitudinal transcriptomics and gene‐pattern classification to uncover patient‐specific mechanisms of chemotherapy resistance in breast cancer. Findings reveal preexisting drug‐tolerant states in primary tumors and diverse gene rewiring patterns across patients, converging on a few dysregulated functional modules. Despite receiving the

Completion of the mixed unit interval graphs hierarchy

open access: yes, 2017
We describe the missing class of the hierarchy of mixed unit interval graphs, generated by the intersection graphs of closed, open and one type of half-open intervals of the real line.
