Reformulating mixed-integer quadratically constrained quadratic programs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
It is well known that semidefinite programming (SDP) can be used to derive useful relaxations for a variety of optimisation problems. Moreover, in the particular case of mixed-integer quadratic programs, SDP has been used to reformulate problems, rather ...

SPADE: A Deep Learning Framework for Spatial Mapping and Quantitative Cell–Cell Interaction Inference

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SPADE integrates spatial transcriptomics with single‐cell RNA sequencing by using cell–cell communications (CCC) as a guide for spatial mapping. It improves cell‐type localization, enhances sparse gene‐expression signals, and reveals CCC programs at single‐spot resolution.

Conformal Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces: A Cylindrical Geometry Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Cylindrical reconfigurable intelligent surfaces are explored for low‐complexity beam steering using one‐bit meta‐atoms. A multi‐level modeling approach, including optimization‐based synthesis, demonstrates that even minimal hardware can support directive scattering.

People Counting and Positioning Using Low‐Resolution Infrared Images for FeFET‐Based In‐Memory Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, low‐resolution infrared imaging is combined with a 28 nm FeFET IMC architecture to enable compact, energy‐efficient edge inference. MLC FeFET devices are experimentally characterized, and controlled multi‐level current accumulation is validated at crossbar array level.

A Mixed-Integer Linear Programming Formulation for Distribution Network Reconfiguration

open access: yesIEEE Access
The Distribution Network Reconfiguration (DNR) problem is a well-known problem in the field of power system optimization. It consists of altering the state of the switches in Distribution Networks (DNs), resulting in a topology that is optimal with ...

FATCOP: A Fault Tolerant Condor-PVM Mixed Integer Programming Solver

open access: yes, 1999
We describe FATCOP, a new parallel mixed integer program solver written in PVM. The implementation uses the Condor resource management system to provide a virtual machine composed of otherwise idle computers.

A Mixed-Integer Linear Programming Scheduling Optimization Model for Refinery Production

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2016
This paper addresses the problem of production planning and scheduling in an oil refinery process. In the process crude oil is transformed to bitumen and naphthenic special oils. The aim of the scheduling optimization is to decide which mode of operation
