Thin Film Composite Mixed-Matrix Membranes based on Matrimid and Zeolitic Imidazolate Frameworks for CO2/N2 separation performance

open access: yes
Membrane-based gas separation processes are a technology in continuous evolution. Various types of polymer membranes have been developed, many exhibiting high CO2 permeability and selective properties over competing gases such as N2 and CH4.

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Mixed matrix carbon molecular sieve and alumina (CMS-Al2O3) membranes

open access: yes, 2016
This work shows mixed matrix inorganic membranes prepared by the vacuum-assisted impregnation method, where phenolic resin precursors filled the pore of a-alumina substrates.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

PES-Kaolin Mixed Matrix Membranes for Arsenic Removal from Water

open access: yesMembranes, 2017
The aim of this work was the fabrication and the characterization of mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) for arsenic (As) removal from water. Membrane separation was combined with an adsorption process by incorporating the kaolin (KT2) Algerian natural clay in

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Synthesis of graphene oxide/polyimide mixed matrix membranes for desalination

open access: yes, 2017
Nanohybrid graphene oxide (GO)/polyimide (PI) mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) were prepared by dispersing GO into PI through wet phase inversion method. The structure of GO/PI MMMs was characterized by using XRD, FT-IR and XPS.

Progress on Incorporating Zeolites in Matrimid®5218 Mixed Matrix Membranes towards Gas Separation

open access: yes, 2018
Membranes, as perm-selective barriers, have been widely applied for gas separation applications. Since some time ago, pure polymers have been used mainly for the preparation of membranes, considering different kinds of polymers for such preparation.
