Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Picone-type inequality and Sturmian comparison theorems for quasilinear elliptic operators with p(x)-Laplacians

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2012
A Picone-type inequality for quasilinear elliptic operators with mixed nonlinearities and with p(x)-Laplacian is established, and Sturmian comparison theorems are derived on the basis of the Picone-type inequality.

Long‐Term Follow‐Up of Chemotherapy‐Associated Biological Aging in Women With Early Breast Cancer

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Women threated with adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer have sustained long‐term increase in p16INK4a,, a robust marker of cell senescence, suggesting a chemotherapy‐associated age acceleration. p16INK4a as well as other biomarkers may identify patients at greatest risk for senescence‐related diseases of aging.

Fluid Biomarkers of Disease Burden and Cognitive Dysfunction in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Identifying objective biomarkers for progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) is crucial to improving diagnosis and establishing clinical trial and treatment endpoints. This study evaluated fluid biomarkers in PSP versus controls and their associations with regional 18F‐PI‐2620 tau‐PET, clinical, and cognitive outcomes.

Normalized solutions for planar Schrödinger–Poisson equation with mixed nonlinearities

open access: yesBulletin of Mathematical Sciences
This paper deals with the following Schrödinger–Poisson equation with mixed nonlinearities: −Δu+λu+12π(ln|⋅|∗|u|2)u=μ|u|q−2u+|u|p−2u,x∈ℝ2,∫ℝ2u2dx=c, where [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] is a given real ...

Mixed Nonlinear Response and Transition of Nonlinearity in a Piezoelectric Membrane

open access: yesACS Applied Electronic Materials
Nonlinearities play a critical role in the dynamics of mechanical resonators, enhancing sensitivity and enabling signal manipulation. Understanding the parameters affecting nonlinearities is crucial for developing strategies to counteract their effects or manipulate them for improved device performance. This study investigates the impact of fabrication-

A Mixed Algorithm for Nonlinear Complementarity Problems

open access: yesJournal of Computers, 2011
Combining nonmonotone trust region algorithms and PSO methods, we propose a mixed method for nonlinear complementarity problems. The iterative formula of μ k is very simple. When the determinant of  B k +λ k I is very large or small, the PSO method will obtain a new point which gets us better astringency.

Planar Solid‐State Nanopores Toward Scalable Nanofluidic Integration Based on CMOS Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present a scalable silicon‐based fabrication strategy for planar solid‐state nanopores to enable their integration with complex nanofluidic systems. Prototype devices demonstrate normal voltage‐current characteristics, good noise performance, and appreciable streaming currents. Our CMOS‐compatible fabrication process offers precise geometric control
