Smart, Bio‐Inspired Polymers and Bio‐Based Molecules Modified by Zwitterionic Motifs to Design Next‐Generation Materials for Medical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bio‐based and (semi‐)synthetic zwitterion‐modified novel materials and fully synthetic next‐generation alternatives show the importance of material design for different biomedical applications. The zwitterionic character affects the physiochemical behavior of the material and deepens the understanding of chemical interaction mechanisms within the ...

Car Delay Model near Bus Stops with Mixed Traffic Flow [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2013
This paper proposes a model for estimating car delays at bus stops under mixed traffic using probability theory and queuing theory. The roadway is divided to serve motorized and nonmotorized traffic streams. Bus stops are located on the nonmotorized lanes. When buses dwell at the stop, they block the bicycles.

Fluorescent Nanodiamonds Based Theranostic Platform for pH‐Sensitive Drug Delivery and Quantum Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A multifunctional nanodiamond platform enables pH‐triggered Diazoxide (DZX) delivery and quantum sensing of subcellular radical dynamics in triple‐negative breast cancer cells. Diamond relaxometry revealed reduced lysosomal radicals during DZX‐induced mitochondrial radical elevation, providing insights into redox modulation and organelle‐ resolved ...

Predictive dynamic multi-flow routing (PD-MFR) algorithm towards sixth generation (6G) software-defined networks

open access: yesJournal of Information and Telecommunication
We develop a dynamic Quality of Service (QoS) routing algorithm based on network traffic prediction for Sixth Generation (6G) SDNs. First, we formulate a mixed integer optimization model that incorporates the key constraints for Ultra-Reliable Low ...

Expanding Chemical Space of Nucleic Acid Nanoparticles for Tunable Antiviral‐Like Immunomodulatory Responses and Potent Adjuvant Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a nucleic acid nanoparticle (NANP) platform designed to be rrecognized by the human innate immune system in a regulated manner. By changing chemical composition while maintaining constant architectural parameters, we identify key determinants of immunorecognition enabling the rational design of NANPs with tunable immune activation profiles

Analysis of traffic flow with mixed manual and semiautomated vehicles [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, 2003
The introduction of semiautomated vehicles designed to operate with manually driven vehicles is a realistic near-term objective. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the effects on traffic-flow characteristics and environment when semiautomated vehicles with automatic vehicle following capability (in the same lane) operate together with manually ...

Spectrally Tunable 2D Material‐Based Infrared Photodetectors for Intelligent Optoelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Intelligent optoelectronics through spectral engineering of 2D material‐based infrared photodetectors. Abstract The evolution of intelligent optoelectronic systems is driven by artificial intelligence (AI). However, their practical realization hinges on the ability to dynamically capture and process optical signals across a broad infrared (IR) spectrum.

Oral Dosed Organo‐Silica Nanoparticles Restore Glucose Homeostasis and β‐Cell Function in Diabetes Rats

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An oral nanoplatform, MOP@T@D, which can maintain glucose homeostasis and restore islet β cells in diabetic rats is developed. It achieves efficient intestinal absorption and liver‐targeted delivery. The nanoparticle disintegrates only in response to hyperglycemia to release insulin on demand and provides antioxidant protection through selenoprotein ...
