Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Study of the turbulent mixing zone induced by the Richtmyer-Meshkov instability using Laser Doppler Velocimetry and Schlieren visualizations [PDF]
An experimental study of the compressible mixing generated by the Richtmyer-Meshkov instability (RMI) is carried out in a vertical shock tube by means of two-components Laser Doppler Velocimetry (2C-LDV) measurements and Time-resolved Schlieren ...

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

INVESTIGATION OF OILWELL CEMENT MIXING: EXPERIMENTAL STUDIES AND IMPLICATIONS FOR MIXING ENERGY THEORY [PDF]
Cement is a key element of wellbore integrity. Mixing condition for cement and how its properties are affected is of great importance but often ignored in the oilwell cement design. Typical cement slurry properties such as basic rheology, thickening time,

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Global and Koopman modes analysis of sound generation in mixing layers [PDF]
It is now well established that linear and nonlinear instability waves play a significant role in the noise generation process for a wide variety of shear flows such as jets or mixing layers.

Research on Structure and Characteristics of Gear System of Crossflow in Flow Domain of Reactor Core
The spatial difference of the thermal-hydraulic state in reactor core is easy to lead to local high temperature, so the risk of material burning and fuel melting is introduced under the safe conditions of average temperature. The fine computational fluid
