Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...

Development of Performance Properties of Ternary Mixtures and Concrete Pavement Mixture Design and Analysis (MDA): Effect of Paste Quality on Fresh and Hardened Properties of Ternary Mixtures, TPF-5(117), 2012 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of cement paste quality on the concrete performance, particularly fresh properties, by changing the water-to-cementitious materials ratio (w/cm), type and dosage of supplementary cementitious ...

Conserved binding mode but diverse interfaces of MreC‐PBP2 interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The crystal structure of abMreC reveals a conserved two β‐barrel architecture and provides structural insights into its role within the bacterial elongasome. The abMreC–abPBP2 complex model identifies the molecular basis of MreC‐mediated PBP2 recognition, contributing to the regulation of peptidoglycan synthesis.

Modelling Background Noise in Finite Mixtures of Generalized Linear Regression Models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper we show how only a few outliers can completely break down EM-estimation of mixtures of regression models. A simple, yet very effective way of dealing with this problem, is to use a component where all regression parameters are fixed to zero

The effect of aging on element plant availability and bacterial counts of mixtures of wood ash and sewage sludge

open access: yesMaderas: Ciencia y Tecnología, 2011
This study investigated the chemical composition of a mixture of 70% wood ashes (a by-product of timber-industry) and 30% sewage sludge (% dry weight), immediately after preparation and after storage (42 days).

Microbiome‐blood–brain barrier interactions in aging — mechanisms and therapeutic potential

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Aging reshapes the gut microbiome (↓SCFA‐producing commensals; ↑pro‐inflammatory outputs), shifting circulating metabolites (↓SCFAs; ↑LPS, ↑TMAO, ↑PAA) that act at the BBB to increase nonspecific transcytosis, alter transport, and promote astrocyte reactivity, heightening brain vulnerability.

Effect of Film Thickness on Resistance to Permanent Deformation in Asphalt Mixtures

open access: yes, 2015
The resistance of asphalt mixtures against permanent deformation is one of important requirements that have to be verified in the design process of asphalt mixtures.

The Use of Critical Solution Mixtures for Contaminated Sediments Remediation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Using a critical solution mixture, into which chelating agents have been dissolved, resulted in the efficient, rapid and simultaneous removal of both heavy metals and organic pollutants from contaminated sediments.

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

THEORETICAL ASPECTS, EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATIONS AND EFFICIENCY IN USAGE OF HIGH-STRENGTH CONCRETE FOR BRIDGE STRUCTURES

open access: yesНаука и техника, 2014
In Belarus concrete with strength up to 60 MPA is used for construction. At the same time high strength concrete with compressive strength above 60 MPA is widely used in all industrially developed countries.
