Investigation of Endogenous Renal CEST Contrast and the Influence of Respiratory Motion on a Clinical 3 Tesla MRI: An In Vivo and In Vitro Study

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 95, Issue 4, Page 2194-2206, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose The aim is to evaluate the effectiveness of timed breathing in reducing respiratory motion artifacts in renal chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) MRI and to assess potential differences in CEST effects between renal compartments.

Uncoupling TGFβ1 signalling from collagen protein synthesis in Dupuytren's disease

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology, Volume 268, Issue 4, Page 383-397, April 2026.
Abstract Dupuytren's disease is a fibroproliferative disorder of the palmer fascia (PF) characterised by flexion contractures in the hand. Dupuytren's disease can be treated surgically, but disease recurrence rates are high, potentially due to continual production of matrisomal proteins.

Ultraviolet Extinction of Metal Oxide Nanoparticles Imaged at the Single Nanoaggregate Level

open access: yesParticle &Particle Systems Characterization, Volume 43, Issue 4, April 2026.
Metal oxide nanoparticles are at the core of many nanotechnology applications, yet their tendency to form complex nanoaggregates imposes the development of alternative characterization methods. UV microscopy is introduced here to monitor the extinction cross‐section of TiO2, SnO2 and Fe2O3 nanoparticles with single nanoaggregate resolution of ...

Finite Size‐Effects in Martensite Microstructure of Magnetic Shape Memory Films

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 19, 1 April 2026.
Magnetic shape memory alloys are a promising multifunctional material system for integration into microsystems. Their multifunctionality arises from the coexistence of ferroelasticity and ferromagnetism. While size‐effects in ferromagnetic microstructure are well understood, corresponding experiments on the ferroelastic microstructure are sparse.
