The Dementia and Mild Cognitive Impairment in Prison Care Pathway (DECISION): An Initial Programme Theory Informed by Umbrella Review and Participatory Co‐Design Workshops

open access: yesMental Health Science, Volume 4, Issue 1, March 2026.
ABSTRACT In England and Wales, approximately 8% of prisoners aged 50 and over are likely to have dementia/MCI, but they do not receive equivalent care to their counterparts in the community. We previously designed DECISION (Dementia and Mild Cognitive Impairment in prison), a care pathway and training/awareness package for use in prison.

Climate Change Projections for the Southwest Pacific Ocean Using Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP) Phase 5 and 6 Models: Implications for Physics, Biogeochemistry, Ecosystems, and Fisheries

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Marine and Freshwater Research, Volume 60, Issue 1, March 2026.
This article analyses future projections of ocean properties for a region of the south‐west Pacific Ocean encompassing the New Zealand Exclusive Economic Zone under different climate change emission scenarios. Projections are updated and expanded from previous assessments using a “best” ensemble comprising both CMIP5 and CMIP6 earth system models.

Senescent Mesenchymal Stromal Cells Differentially Alter Adipogenesis in Adipose Tissue, Skeletal Muscle, and Bone Marrow

open access: yesObesity, Volume 34, Issue 3, Page 652-661, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective Aging alters mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC) function, leading to dysregulated adipogenesis across tissues through biased lineage commitment. Fat redistribution from adipose depots to skeletal muscle and bone marrow is common in aging, but the underlying mechanisms remain unclear.

Localized Teacher Recruitment Through “Grow‐Your‐Own”: Impacts of the High School Teacher Academy of Maryland Program

open access: yesJournal of Policy Analysis and Management, Volume 45, Issue 2, Spring 2026.
ABSTRACT Recruiting teachers via “grow‐your‐own” (GYO) programs is a popular, yet rarely evaluated, strategy for addressing local workforce shortages and ensuring that incoming teachers resemble, understand, and have strong connections to their communities.

Glacial Meltwater Promotes Biological Productivity and Subsequent Dissolved Organic Carbon Accumulation in the Eastern Ross Sea: Evidence From the Austral Summer of 2023

open access: yesGlobal Biogeochemical Cycles, Volume 40, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract The Ross Sea, a critical region for global carbon cycling, receives increasing glacial meltwater from West Antarctica, yet the impact on regional carbon cycling remains poorly understood. A key uncertainty is how this meltwater influences dissolved organic matter (DOM), particularly in the historically inaccessible eastern Ross Sea. This study

Global Eddy Subduction Carbon Pump From Argo Floats

open access: yesGlobal Biogeochemical Cycles, Volume 40, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract The eddy subduction pump, part of the biological pump, transports carbon‐rich surface filaments downward via kilometer‐scale turbulence in frontal regions, over days to weeks. Because of its spatial and temporal scales, this pump has been challenging to observe and quantify.
