Improved Superconducting Qubit Readout by Qubit-Induced Nonlinearities
In dispersive readout schemes, qubit-induced nonlinearity typically limits the measurement fidelity by reducing the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) when the measurement power is increased.

Effect of interface states on spin-dependent tunneling in Fe/MgO/Fe tunnel junctions [PDF]
The electronic structure and spin-dependent tunneling in epitaxial Fe/MgO/Fe(001) tunnel junctions are studied using first-principles calculations. For small MgO barrier thickness the minority-spin resonant bands at the two interfaces make a significant ...

Risk Evaluation in a ML-Approximated Portfolio Environment
This thesis explores and evaluates the forecasting application of the machine learning method Gradient Boosting Decision Trees. This method is used to forecast the demand of the online grocery market with a 7-day time horizon. The thesis was conducted in collaboration with the online grocery company Mathem.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

On the use of local max-ent shape functions for the simulation of forming processes [PDF]
In this work we review the opportunities given by the use of local maximum-\ud entropy approximants (LME) for the simulation of forming processes.

The spin crossover of iron in Fe$^{3+}$-bearing bridgmanite, the most abundant mineral of the Earth's lower mantle, is by now a well-established phenomenon, though several aspects of this crossover remain unclear. Here we investigate effects of disorder,

Sharp feature preserving MLS surface reconstruction based on local feature line approximations [PDF]
Sharp features in manufactured and designed objects require particular attention when reconstructing surfaces from unorganized scan point sets using moving least squares (MLS) fitting. It's an inherent property of MLS fitting that sharp features are smoothed out.

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.
