Dual bases and discrete reproducing kernels: A unified framework for RBF and MLS approximation, submitted [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Moving least squares (MLS) and radial basis function (RBF) methods play a central role in multivariate approximation theory. In this paper we provide a unified framework for both RBF and MLS approximation.

Deteksi pengaruh gelombang Kelvin pada fluktuasi uap air di tropopause menggunakan model inversi

open access: yesMajalah Geografi Indonesia, 2020
Analisis pengaruh gelombang ekuatorial Kelvin terhadap fluktuasi uap air (H2O) di lapisan tropopause (paras tekanan udara 100 hPa), dilakukan dengan  memanfaatkan data Microwave Limb Sounder (MLS) Aura versi 4.2 dan angin zonal NCEP DOE Reanalysis II ...

Hermite MLS Approximation for Discretizing Fourth Order Partial Differential Equations Encountered in Beam and Plate Models

open access: yes, 2007
In this work we propose a novel strategy for discretizing beam and plate models in the framework of a meshless Hermite moving least square approach which allows a natural and simple enforcement of boundary conditions.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Blended Hermite MLS Approximation for Discretizing Biharmonic Parial Differential Equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Meshless methods are an appealing choice for constructing functional approximations (with different degrees of consistency and continuity) without a mesh support.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Application of Moving Kriging Shape Functions on Plate Problems

open access: yesNUST Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2008
The Moving Kriging (MK) interpolation was recently proposed as a superior substitution of the Moving Least Square (MLS) approximation in the construction of shape functions for the Element-Free Galerkin Method (EFGM).

Risk Evaluation in a ML-Approximated Portfolio Environment

open access: yes, 2022

Approximate ML Decoding of Short Convolutional Codes Over Phase Noise Channels [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Communications Letters, 2020
We propose a decoding algorithm for tail-biting convolutional codes over phase noise channels. It can be seen as a reduced complexity approximation of maximum likelihood decoding. We target short blocks and extend the wrap-around Viterbi algorithm to trellises describing the random evolution of the phase impairment, for which we adopt two different ...

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...
