The Impact of Electroacupuncture Intervention on Expression of 5-HTR 1B/2C Genes in Mice under Radiation Stimulation from Mobile Phone

open access: yes针刺研究, 2015
Objective To observe the effect of electroacupuncture(EA)stimulation of"Yifen"(TE 17),"Shenshu"(BL 23)on the expression of 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 1B(5-HTR 1B)mRNA and 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 2C(5-HTR2C)mRNA in the cochlear nucleus tissue in ...

A Pentaradial and Bilateral Combined Photoreception System in the Sea Cucumber is Mediated by a Blue Light‐Sensitive R‐Opsin

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The sea cucumber Holothuria leucospilota detects blue and adjacent wavelengths of light via an r‐opsin with a maximum absorption at 459 nm. In the oral tentacles, papillae, and tube feet, distinct light‐sensing structures with specialized morphologies are formed, constituting a unique pentaradial and bilateral combined photoreception system.

RNA Helicase DDX21 Controls CD4+ T Cell Proliferation and Promotes Inflammatory Bowel Disease via Translational Control

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is characterized by dysregulated T cell responses. RNA helicases, including DExD‐box helicase 21 (DDX21), are pivotal in RNA metabolism, but their role in T cell‐mediated pathology during IBD remains unclear. Here, we demonstrate that DDX21 expression in CD4+ T cells correlates with cell cycle and translation ...

Specific chromatin states and m6A modifications are associated with mRNA mobility in planta

open access: yesHorticulture Research
A growing body of research has increasingly shed light on the mobility and systemic signaling roles of messenger RNAs (mRNAs). The field of plant grafting, especially horticultural crops, has provided scientists with the unique opportunity to identify thousands of mobile mRNAs.

Developing a mobile RNA delivery system for grafting trait improvement

open access: yesEMBO Reports
Systemic RNA movement offers a route for non-transgenic trait improvement by grafting, but progress has been limited by the lack of reliable tools to identify mobile RNA elements.

Phosphorylation‐Facilitated CKB Lactylation At K11 By GCN5 Enhances Creatine Kinase Activity and Mitigates Neuronal Damage After Cerebral Ischemia‐Reperfusion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers hierarchical coordination between K11 lactylation and S199 phosphorylation of CKB in cerebral ischemia‐reperfusion injury. Such dual modifications potentiate CKB enzymatic function, remodel energy metabolism, alleviate oxidative stress and neuronal damage, and represent a viable therapeutic target for stroke treatment.

Canagliflozin Alleviates Diabetic Glomerular Endothelial Injury via Melibiose in a Microbiota‐Dependent Manner

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Canagliflozin treatment reshapes the gut microbiota in DKD and elevates levels of melibiose, a metabolite derived from Roseburia intestinalis. Melibiose directly binds to and enhances the enzymatic activity of glyoxalase 1, leading to decreased methylglyoxal accumulation.

Cross Kingdom Metabolic Engineering Paradigm Elevating Sustainable Protein Production

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Confronting the dual crisis of escalating global protein demand and unsustainable agriculture necessitates transformative solutions. Here, we pioneer evolutionary insights from maize nitrogen optimization via asparagine synthetase (ASNS) to rewire metabolism in Pichia pastoris.

Endogenous MOV10 inhibits the retrotransposition of endogenous retroelements but not the replication of exogenous retroviruses

open access: yesRetrovirology, 2012
Background The identification of cellular factors that regulate the replication of exogenous viruses and endogenous mobile elements provides fundamental understanding of host-pathogen relationships.

Mitochondria and Neuromast Tagging With Fluorescent Gallium‐Triapine Analogues: In Cellulo MP FLIM and Zebrafish Live Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fluorescent BODIPY‐conjugated thiosemicarbazone ligands and their Ga(III), In(III), and Fe(III) complexes, inspired by Triapine, are developed as theranostic agents. Multiphoton FLIM and confocal microscopy in cancer cells and zebrafish reveal real‐time uptake, mitochondrial localisation, and whilst spectroscopic assays indicated preserved complex ...
