Factors affecting the apparent digestibility of protein for swine when determined by the mobile nylon bag technique

Animal Feed Science and Technology, 1989
Five Yorkshire × Lacombe barrows (45 kg initial weight), fitted with a duodenal cannula ∼ 10 cm from the pyloric sphincter, were used to determine the influence of fineness of grind (mesh size of 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 or 2.0 mm), pore size (10, 48, 63 or 70 μm), sample size (0.5 vs.

Protein and Amino Acid Digestibility in Dairy Cows Measured with Mobile Nylon Bags Recovered in Ileum or in Faeces

Acta Agriculturae Scandinavica, Section A — Animal Science, 2003
Digestibility of protein and amino acids in dairy cows was measured using the mobile nylon bag technique and collection of bags in ileum and in faeces. The feeds studied were untreated and expander treated barley and oats, solvent extracted rapeseed meal (RSM) and soybean meal (SBM), lignosulfonate treated SBM (SoyPass) and fish meal (FM).

A rapid assay for the measurement of protein digestion to the ileum of pigs by the use of a mobile nylon bag technique

Animal Feed Science and Technology, 1991
Abstract Pigs were fitted either with a cannula in the stomach or with cannulae in the duodenum and ileum. Twenty-seven feed ingredients were ground through a 1 mm screen and 0.5 g samples were placed in a pouch made from a circle of nylon of 75 mm diameter. Bags were suspended in the stomach of the pigs for 6 h.

Phosphorus and other nutrient disappearance from plants containing condensed tannins using the mobile nylon bag technique

Animal Feed Science and Technology, 2010
A study was designed to evaluate nutrient disappearance from three Texas browse species containing condensed tannins (CT; Acacia angustissima var. hirta, Desmodium paniculatum, Smilax bona-nox, and Medicago sativa as control) using the mobile nylon bag technique.
