A more‐than‐human political ecology of Indonesian songbird trade

open access: yesConservation Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Since its inception, conservation science has considered wildlife trade a problem. In focusing on conservation outcomes, conservationists almost completely ignore the welfare of traded animals and plants and the harms they endure. We developed a political ecology approach that incorporates the interconnectedness of people with animals and ...

Comparison of indigestible markers from in situ and in vivo incubation to predict apparent digestibility in hay- and corn-fed horses=Comparação de indicadores indigestíveis obtidos por incubação in situ e in vivo para predizer a digestibilidade aparente em cavalos alimentados com feno e milho [PDF]

open access: yesActa Scientiarum: Animal Sciences, 2012
Four castrated crossbred horses were used in a randomized block design to study the use of indigestible internal markers iNDF and iADF obtained in situ (from bovines) or in vivo (from equines).

Suited for spacewalking: A teacher's guide with activities [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
This publication is an activity guide for teachers on spacesuits and spacewalking. It uses the intensive interest many children have in space exploration as a launching point for hands-on-opportunities.

ZmWRKY29 Transcriptionally Represses ZmRBOHC to Attenuate ROS Production and Facilitates Gibberella Stalk Rot Susceptibility in Maize

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Gibberella stalk rot (GSR), caused by the fungal pathogen Fusarium graminearum, severely threatens maize production. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying maize resistance to GSR remain poorly understood. Here, we have identified ZmWRKY29 as a transcriptional repressor induced by F.

Degradabilidade ruminal e digestibilidade intestinal da proteína de capim-elefante com três idades de corte Rumen degradability and intestinal digestibility of protein of elephant-grass at three cutting ages

Hydrotreatment of Nylon 66 and Amide Model Compounds Over Sulfided NiMo Catalysts

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 9, 14 May 2026.
Hydrotreatment of nylon‐66 and the model amide N,N‐dibutylhexanediamide over sulfided NiMo/Al2O3 reveals competing hydrodenitrogenation and hydrodeoxygenation pathways, without formation of heterocyclic products. Pathway selectivity is influenced by reaction conditions and differs between the model compound and the real nylon sample.

CAROTENOIDS DIGESTION IN AFRICAN STARGRASS (Cynodon plectostachyus) DETERMINED WITH In Situ TECHNIQUES IN CATTLE

open access: yesTropical and Subtropical Agroecosystems, 2011
Dry matter (DM) and total carotenoids disappearane in the rumen and intestinal passage of African stargrass (AS) were measured in 4 Holstein steers using rumen In situ and a mobile nylon bag technique in duodenum, respectively.

Effect of pork carnosine level on lipid and protein oxidation markers during in vitro co‐digestion in a Mediterranean meal model

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, Volume 106, Issue 7, Page 4008-4016, May 2026.
Abstract BACKGROUND This study assessed the effects of dietary carnosine during the in vitro digestion of a healthy meal model based on the Mediterranean diet, comprising lean pork enriched with two levels of carnosine, whole grain bread, tomato, onion, and olive oil.

Intestinal Digestibility in Dairy Cows of Protein from Grass and Clover Measured with Mobile Nylon Bag and Other Methods

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 1993
Ruminal, intestinal, and total tract digestibilities of CP in grass, grass silage, and clover were measured using the mobile nylon bag method. Total tract indigestibilities measured with this method were compared with indigestible CP predicted by in vitro, 14-d ruminal incubation, and 12-h followed by 14-d ruminal incubation methods.
