Finite element method of a progressive intralaminar and interlaminar damage model for woven fibre laminated composites under low velocity impact

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2022
A novel three-dimensional damage model based on continuum damage mechanics (CDM) is established for the analysis of damage and fracture in woven carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) laminates.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

FTO-Sim: an open-source simulation framework for evaluating cooperative perception in urban areas

open access: yesEuropean Transport Research Review
In urban areas, static and dynamic occlusions frequently obstruct the field of view and impair the reliable detection of vulnerable road users (VRUs), posing a major challenge to the safe deployment of connected and automated vehicles in complex urban ...

Making an Onboard Reference Map From MRO/CTX Imagery for Mars 2020 Lander Vision System

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, 2021
The Mars 2020 rover, Perseverance, landed in Jezero crater (18.4663°N, 77.4298°E) on February 18, 2021 to collect samples from Mars that could be returned to Earth by a future Mars Sample Return campaign.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Can language models be used for real-world urban-delivery route optimization?

open access: yesThe Innovation, 2023
Language models have contributed to breakthroughs in interdisciplinary research, such as protein design and molecular dynamics understanding. In this study, we reveal that beyond language, representations of other entities, such as human behaviors, that ...

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Performance enhancement of hydrophobically associative polymer by watersoluble β-cyclodextrin polymer

open access: yesYouqicang pingjia yu kaifa, 2021
In order to improve the rheological properties of hydrophobically associating polymers(HAP) and the mobility control ability in porous media, a water-soluble cyclodextrin polymer, β-CDP.

Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...
