Boids Flocking Algorithm for Situation Assessment of Driver Assistance Systems

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Intelligent Transportation Systems, 2023
Driver assistance systems are increasingly becoming part of the standard equipment of vehicles and thus contribute to road safety. However, as they become more widespread, the requirements for cost efficiency are also increasing, and so few and ...

Structural and biochemical analysis of a B12 superbinder

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
BtuG proteins are vitamin B12 scavengers in Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron, a dominant human gut bacterium. We present crystal structures of three BtuG homologs bound to cobalamin and its precursor cobinamide, revealing picomolar binding affinities, among the highest known for any natural protein.

Study on ideal oil displacement agents for mobility control based on principle of reservoir chemical flooding energy consumption distribution Ⅰ:flow resistance regulation mechanism and application of surfactant/polymer combination system

open access: yesYouqi dizhi yu caishoulu
In response to the contradiction between the deep mobility control capability and near-well-bore area injectability of oil displacement agents, this paper proposed that an ideal oil displacement agent for mobility control should fulfill the technical ...

Structures of mycobacterial 3‐methylcrotonyl‐CoA carboxylase reveal carrier‐domain translocation between catalytic sites

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mycobacterial 3‐methylcrotonyl‐CoA carboxylase uses a mobile biotin‐carrying domain to shuttle a carboxyl group between two catalytic sites, enabling carboxylation of 3‐methylcrotonyl‐CoA during leucine breakdown. Cryo‐electron microscopy captures the carrier at both sites and reveals an inward loop movement that may prevent futile rebinding to the ...

L‐aspartate oxidase provides new insights into fumarate reduction in anaerobic darkness in Synechocystis sp. PCC6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Synechocystis strains deficient in succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) secrete more succinate than the WT under dark anaerobic conditions, supporting that SDH then primarily acts as SDH, not as a fumarate reductase. L‐aspartate oxidase (Laspo) from Synechocystis is functional under anaerobic conditions, reducing fumarate to succinate.

Study on effective mobility control time ramge and influencing factors of polymer flooding

open access: yesYouqicang pingjia yu kaifa, 2019
The study on the effective control time range of polymer flooding and its influencing factors is conducive to the further development of oil recovery measures after polymer flooding. Based on the theory of characteristic curve of water flooding reservoir

Artificial molecular machines and motors—Design and control of nanoscale motion

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Molecules are constantly moving because of thermal fluctuations, but random motion alone cannot be exploited to perform directional tasks. Artificial molecular machines use chemical, electrical, or light energy to bias this motion. Molecular shuttles, rotary motors, and supramolecular pumps illustrate how nanoscale movement can be controlled and ...

Keeping in transit: flexible externalization and the dual logics of transit governance in the Americas

open access: yesFrontiers in Human Dynamics
This article examines how irregularized migrant transit has become a central tool of contemporary migration governance in the Americas. Drawing on the empirical trajectories of Venezuelan migrants crossing multiple countries under precarious and shifting

The heterodimeric amino acid transporters (HAT) of the SLC7/SLC3 family: A structure−function relationships and relevance to human pathology

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Heterodimeric amino acid transporters consist of SLC7 and SLC3 family proteins arranged in a conserved structural organization. They regulate nutrient transport across cell membranes, supporting essential cellular functions. These transporters also contribute to xenobiotic/drug uptake and distribution.
