Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Time domain modal identification/estimation of the mini-mast testbed [PDF]

open access: yes
The Mini-Mast is a 20 meter long 3-dimensional, deployable/retractable truss structure designed to imitate future trusses in space. Presented here are results from a robust (with respect to measurement noise sensitivity), time domain, modal ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Rigid body mode identification of the PAH-2 helicopter using the eigensystem realization algorithm [PDF]

open access: yes
The rigid body modes of the PAH-2 'Tiger' helicopter were identified using the Eigensystem Realization Algorithm (ERA). This work complements ground vibration tests performed using DLR's traditional phase resonance technique and the ISSPA (Identification

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Optimization and engineering verification of excitation scheme for aircraft ground vibration test

open access: yesHangkong gongcheng jinzhan
Ground vibration test is an important part of aircraft model development and strength verification. In aircraft ground vibration test,an appropriate excitation scheme can significantly shorten the test's period and improve the accuracy of mode ...

A novel identification procedure from ambient vibration data for buildings of the cultural heritage [PDF]

open access: yes
Ambient modal identification, also known as Operational Modal Analysis (OMA), aims to identify the modal properties of a structure based on vibration data collected when the structure is under its operating conditions, i.e., no initial excitation or ...

OUTPUT-ONLY MODAL IDENTIFICATION OF TENSEGRITY STRUCTURES

open access: yesEngineering Structures and Technologies, 2016
Tensegrity systems are a special class of spatial reticulated structures that are composed of struts in compression and cables in tension. In this paper, the performance of stochastic subspace algorithms for modal identification of complex tensegrity systems is investigated.
