Most of the recent modal parameter estimators start from the fact that natural frequencies, damping ratios and modal participation factors are global parameters of the measured structure. Measuring the structure in different patches can however cause inconsistencies in the data due to e.g. the mass-loading effect of the accelerometers.

Experimental identification of modal parameters of agricultural tires

A tire for agricultural vehicles has to satisfy several contrasting requirements. As first it has to provide high traction forces, maximizing traction efficiency; i.e. longitudinal forces should be developed with low slippages. Secondly, the tire should be able to limit the vibrations induced by soil/road interaction improving riding comfort.
