Mutually coherent dual-comb source generated from a free-running linear fiber laser
We demonstrate a simple scheme for mutually coherent dual-comb generation, in which two frequency combs are emitted from a linear polarization maintaining (PM) fiber laser. The employed master laser is simultaneously mode-locked along two cross-polarized

MAGTWIST: A compact magnetic rotary actuator, enabling smooth, stepless rotation, and on‐demand locking. Inspired by peristalsis, a soft polymer belt generates a traveling‐wave, enabling 270° rotation when heated. Cooling stiffens the belt, locking it in position and enabling it to withstand high loads.

Ultrafast Fiber Lasers with Low-Dimensional Saturable Absorbers: Status and Prospects
Wide-spectral saturable absorption (SA) in low-dimensional (LD) nanomaterials such as zero-, one-, and two-dimensional materials has been proven experimentally with outstanding results, including low saturation intensity, deep modulation depth, and fast ...

Gourd‐Inspired Design of Unit Cell with Multiple Gradients for Physiological‐Range Pressure Sensing
Gourd‐shaped micro‐dome arrays with coordinated modulus, conductivity, and geometric gradients co‐optimize sensitivity and linearity in piezoresistive tactile sensors. Under pressure, a solid upper dome embeds into a porous lower dome, triggering rapid contact‐area growth and series‐to‐parallel conduction, enabling unsaturated, intensity‐resolved ...

Nonlinear-Optical-Loop-Mirror-Based Mode-Locked Fiber Laser Sensor for Low-Temperature Measurement
A temperature-sensing scheme is realized by a passively mode-locked Yb-doped fiber laser based on the nonlinear optical loop mirror (NOLM). The ambient temperature can be measured by detecting the pulse repetition frequency of the mode-locked fiber laser

Optical vortex fiber laser based on modulation of transverse modes in two mode fiber
Optical vortices, characterized by helical phase fronts, are usually generated outside the laser cavity using passive modulation methods. Here, we demonstrate an all-fiber laser to directly deliver mode-locked and continuous-wave vortex beams based on ...

We present a simple, reliable, and fast method to automatically generate noise-like or mode-locked pulses in a fiber laser. To generate the targeted pulses, we employed two-photon-induced current from a photocell as the feedback signal to control a set ...

High-Order Mode Mode-Locked Fiber Laser Based on Few-Mode Saturable Absorber
We presented two kinds of high-order mode (HOM) mode-locked fiber lasers based on few-mode (FM) saturable absorbers for direct HOM oscillation. One is a ring fiber laser based on a carbon nanotube (CNT) saturable absorber (SA), in which the combination ...

Mode-locked Nd-doped microstructured fiber laser
We demonstrate passive mode-locking of a microstructured fiber laser for the first time. The Nd-doped microstructured fiber exhibits a reduced dispersion at 1060 nm. A semiconductor saturable absorber mirror is used for passive mode-locking. Stable pulse formation with a pulse duration of about 26 ps and a pulse energy of 0.7 nJ is observed.

AgCrP2S6 reveals a momentum‐indirect band edge (≈1.35 eV) and chain‐locked linear dichroism: the first direct transitions emerge at 1.6–1.8 eV for E||a. Resonant Raman and photoemission corroborate this assignment. In ACPS/graphene heterostructures, photocurrent turns on above ≈1.5 eV and follows the same polarization selection rules (anisotropy ≈0.53),
