Kompozit anyagok törésmechanikai és dinamikai vizsgálata = Fracture mechanical and dynamical investigation of composite materials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A kutatás során a repedések, bemetszések kompozit anyagok mechanikai tulajdonságaira gyakorolt hatását vizsgáltuk. Törésmechanikai szempontból kifejlesztésre került egy olyan teszt, amely lehetővé teszi a vegyes I/III-as, II/III-as és I/II/III-as módusú ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Effects of Multi-Crack Initiation in High-Speed Railway Wheel Subsurface on Tread Peeling Lifetime

open access: yesMetals
The evolution characteristics of multi-source-fatigue-crack propagation in the subsurface of a high-speed wheel’s tread and its influence on tread peeling life are the basis for accurately evaluating wheel service lifetime.

Finite element analysis of the thermomechanical behavior of metal matrix composites (MMC)

open access: yesFracture and Structural Integrity, 2020
In this work the finite element method (FEM) was used to analyze the mechanical behavior of the composite materials subjected to the mechanical loading.

Study of mixed mode fracture toughness and fracture trajectories in gypsum interlayers in corrosive environment [PDF]

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science, 2018
Based on the engineering background of water dissolving mining for hydrocarbon storage in multi-laminated salt stratum, the mixed mode fracture toughness and fracture trajectory of gypsum interlayers soaked in half-saturated brine at various temperatures

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

The Fundamental Solutions for the Stress Intensity Factors of Modes I, II And III. The Axially Symmetric Problem

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering, 2015
The subject of the paper are Green’s functions for the stress intensity factors of modes I, II and III. Green’s functions are defined as a solution to the problem of an elastic, transversely isotropic solid with a penny-shaped or an external crack under ...

Intermittency and roughening in the failure of brittle heterogeneous materials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Stress enhancement in the vicinity of brittle cracks makes the macro-scale failure properties extremely sensitive to the micro-scale material disorder.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Laws of crack motion and phase-field models of fracture

open access: yes, 2008
Recently proposed phase-field models offer self-consistent descriptions of brittle fracture. Here, we analyze these theories in the quasistatic regime of crack propagation.
