Model-based segmentation of nuclei

Pattern Recognition, 2000
A new approach for segmentation of nuclei observed with an epi-fluorescence microscope is presented. The technique is model based and uses local feature activities such as step-edge segments, roof-edge segments, and concave corners to construct a set of initial hypotheses.

MODEL BASED INFORMATION ACCESS

International Journal of Cooperative Information Systems, 1994
The engineering data of a large enterprise is typically distributed over a wide area and archived in a variety of databases and file systems. Access to such information is crucial to a team member, particularly in a concurrent engineering setting.

Model based corner detection

Proceedings of IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2002
A method is presented to correct an approximate polygonal sketch of an image object boundary by adjusting the location of each corner point in the sketch. The method is suitable for the segmentation of unknown images using interactive techniques, and for locating object boundaries in model-based segmentation.

The Model based Similarity Metric

2007 Data Compression Conference (DCC'07), 2007
This paper addresses the problem of building a compact representation of objects which enables to define a similarity measure. The key idea is to provide a mean to extract and represent the relevant information of an object. By integrating the minimum length description to an informational similarity metric, a new informational measure is proposed ...

Model-Based Steganography

2004
This paper presents an information-theoretic method for performing steganography and steganalysis using a statistical model of the cover medium. The methodology is general, and can be applied to virtually any type of media. It provides answers for some fundamental questions which have not been fully addressed by previous steganographic methods, such as

Towards Model-based Methods for Developing Model-based Systems

International Journal of General Systems, 2004
Model-based reasoning (MBR) is a means of reasoning about models of all kinds, as appropriate to the task at hand. This includes adaptation of models in response to changes in a problem-solving context or task goals. Thus, MBR exemplifies the characteristics of a smart adaptive system.

Model based backlash compensation

Proceedings of the 2001 American Control Conference. (Cat. No.01CH37148), 2001
In this paper it was experimentally proven that defining the model of backlash allows for compensation of backlash influence by adding a compensation component into control signal. Initially, algebra of blocks was used to obtain a more suitable representation of a servosystem with backlash in transmission elements.

Model-based teeth reconstruction

ACM Transactions on Graphics, 2016
In recent years, sophisticated image-based reconstruction methods for the human face have been developed. These methods capture highly detailed static and dynamic geometry of the whole face, or specific models of face regions, such as hair, eyes or eye lids.
