Methodology for Model-Based Design of Mobile Robots Control Algorithms

open access: yesДоклады Белорусского государственного университета информатики и радиоэлектроники
This article proposes the formalized methodology for model-based design of mobile platform management systems. The methodology is based on an alternative approach to development, when the model of controlled object is firstly created as a design tool ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

The development of micro-source controller based on the model design method

open access: yes, 2016
There are many random micro-sources in the microgrid, which make it necessary to design complicated control strategies to ensure the safety and reliability of the system. In this paper a development process for a micro-source controller is presented.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

An aerospace component cost modelling study for value driven design [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Demand is increasing in aero-engine products for better efficiency and environmental performance whilst keeping the cost low. Unlike performance, the physics behind cost is least understood.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
