Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Application of iterative nonlinear model predictive control to a batch pilot reactor [PDF]
IFAC WORLD CONGRESS (16) (16.2005.PRAGA, REPÚBLICA CHECA)The aim of this article is to present the Iterative Model Predictive Controller, inmpc, as a good candidate to control chemical batch reactors. The proposed control approach is derived from a model-

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Model Predictive Control in Greenhouses
It is a somewhat general consensus that the agricultural production process has begun over 12,000 years ago somewhere in the Middle East region. The development of this activity can be explained in several ways, but all boils down to the necessity of hunter-gatherer-based humans to reduce their dependence on the whims of nature.

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Frequency-Aware Model Predictive Control
Transferring solutions found by trajectory optimization to robotic hardware remains a challenging task. When the optimization fully exploits the provided model to perform dynamic tasks, the presence of unmodeled dynamics renders the motion infeasible on ...
