Clinical and Biological Features of Response in Resistant Neuroblastoma to 131I‐Metaiodobenzylguanidine Radiotherapy in the Anti‐GD2 Immunotherapy Era

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background 131I‐metaiodobenzylguanidine (131I‐MIBG) radiotherapy is a key treatment for relapsed and refractory (R/R) neuroblastoma (NB). Patients with R/R disease treated in the modern era are increasingly exposed to anti‐GD2 immunotherapy, which exerts selective pressure and may modify both tumor cell state and microenvironment.

MIMO Systems in Education - Theory and Real Time Control of Laboratory Models

open access: yesIFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2003
Abstract This paper presents an approach to education in the field of MIMO (multi input - multi output) systems practised at our department. The approach is based on putting of theoretical knowledge together with practical laboratory experience. The theoretical education is on a basis of the polynomial theory.

Hospitalization Through Families’ Eyes: Comparing Inpatient Care Quality for Children With Sickle Cell Disease and Cystic Fibrosis in Canada

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a chronic, inherited hemoglobinopathy that requires frequent hospitalization for disease‐related complications. Canadian data on inpatient care is limited. This study compared caregiver‐reported hospital experiences of children with SCD to those with cystic fibrosis (CF), a chronic, autosomal recessive ...

Neural Field Theory of Corticothalamic Prediction With Control Systems Analysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Human Neuroscience, 2018
Neural field theory is used to model and analyze realistic corticothalamic responses to simple visual stimuli. This yields system transfer functions that embody key features in common with those of engineering control systems, which enables ...

Performance modelling and control of server systems using non-linear control theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
All service control nodes, for example SCPs, HLRs, and MSCs, are constructed as a server system with one or more servers that process incoming requests. Since service control nodes are sensitive to overload, admission control mechanisms are often implemented.

Time Toxicity in Wilms Tumor: Quantifying the Burden of Healthcare Interaction in the First Year After Diagnosis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Wilms tumor (WT) treatment imposes a significant time burden on patients and their families. Time toxicity is a patient‐centered metric that quantifies the burden of healthcare interaction. We sought to define time toxicity in the first year after diagnosis of WT and hypothesized that it would increase as tumor stage and treatment ...

Feedback Stabilization of Cyber-Physical Systems for Sampled-Data Control: Synthesizing the Cyber and the Physical With Closed-Loop Interactions

open access: yesIEEE Access
Inspired by the cyber-physical systems (CPS) of numerical methods for stochastic differential equations, we present a CPS model of sampled-data control systems (typically a synonym for computer control systems), which regards the intersection of the ...

Complex Dynamics Analysis and Chaos Control of a Fractional-Order Three-Population Food Chain Model

open access: yesFractal and Fractional, 2023
The present study investigates the stability analysis and chaos control of a fractional-order three-population food chain model. Previous research has indicated that the predation relationship within a long-established predator–prey system can be ...

Therapeutic Apheresis for Intravenous Methylprednisolone‐Refractory Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder: Clinical and Radiological Outcomes in a Single‐Center Case Series

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is a relapsing autoimmune disease of the central nervous system. High‐dose intravenous methylprednisolone (IVMP) is the standard first‐line therapy for acute attacks, although some patients remain refractory.

Allocative control Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) model to evaluate inventory control systems when there is a relationship among variables

open access: yesGEPROS: Gestão da Produção, Operações e Sistemas, 2018
The purpose of this paper is to present an allocative control Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) model to measure the efficiency of systems with variables that have a relationship to each other, such as inventory control systems.
