SIMULATION OF TEMPERATURE AND TRANSPORT LOAD IMPACT ON FORMATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF CRACKS ON ASPHALT-CONCRETE ROAD SURFACES

open access: yesНаука и техника, 2012
An analysis of statistical data has shown that about 60 % of all types of road surface destructions and damages in the Republic of Belarus are attributed to cracks (separate, frequent and cracks network).

Effects of cross-anisotropy and stress-dependency of pavement layers on pavement responses under dynamic truck loading

open access: yesJournal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, 2016
Previous studies by the authors have determined pavement responses under dynamic loading considering cross-anisotropy in one layer only, either the cross-anisotropic viscoelastic asphalt concrete (AC) layer or the cross-anisotropic stress-dependent base ...

A Lightweight Procedural Layer for Hybrid Experimental–Computational Workflows in Materials Science

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We unveil a prototype hybrid‐workflow framework that fuses automatedcomputation with hands‐on experiments. Built atop pyiron, a lightweight, parameterized layer translates procedure descriptions into executable manual steps, syncing instrument settings, human interventions, and data capture in real‐time today.

PECULIARITIES OF NON-RIGID PAVEMENT INSPECTION IN THE DESIGN OF REPAIR MEASURES USING COLD RECYCLING TECHNOLOGY

open access: yesДороги і мости
Problem Statement. Observation of the performance of objects restored by cold recycling technology shows that more attention should be paid to diagnosing the condition of existing pavement and predicting the processes that cause premature deterioration.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Model‐Guided Design of Paper Membrane Architectures for Controlled Flow and Enhanced Diagnostic Sensitivity

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Geometrical modifications on nitrocellulose membranes can result in observable differences in signal intensity relative to a reference membrane (top and bottom left). Using two reference experiments, we have developed a theoretical model that can reproduce the experimentally observed flow changes and provide information on membrane parameters, e.g ...

All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.

Comparative Analysis of Water Vapor Accumulation and Permeation Diffusion Processes in Asphalt Mixtures

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Accumulation-type water vapor transport (hereafter referred to as AT-WVT) and permeation-type water vapor transport (hereafter referred to as PT-WVT) represent two fundamental modes of water vapor diffusion in asphalt mixtures, exerting distinct impacts ...
