The effect of eight weeks of high-intensity interval and moderate-intensity continuous training with quercetin supplementation on the expression of PGC1-α and NRF-1 genes in the heart tissue of obese diabetic male rats [PDF]

open access: yesمجله علوم پزشکی فیض (پیوسته)
Background and Aim: Diabetes is more prevalent in obese individuals compared to non-obese individuals. This study aimed to examine the effects of eight weeks of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT ...

MPI‐Guided Photothermal Therapy of Prostate Cancer Using Stem Cell Delivery of Magnetotheranostic Nanoflowers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Tumor‐tropic human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs) were used as delivery vehicles for magnetotheranostic gold–iron oxide nanoflowers. Magnetic particle imaging of the iron component demonstrated widespread intratumoral distribution and sustained retention in contrast to injection of naked nanoflowers.

Intrinsic motivation in two exercise interventions: Associations with fitness and body composition. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
OBJECTIVE: To examine the motivational process through which increases in aerobic capacity and decreases in total body fat are achieved during high-intensity intermittent training (HIT) and moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT) interventions ...

Toward Scalable Solutions for Silver‐Based Gas Diffusion Electrode Fabrication for the Electrochemical Conversion of CO2 – A Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the preparation techniques for silver‐based gas diffusion electrodes used for the electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide (eCO2R) are systematically reviewed and compared with respect to their scalability. In addition, physics‐based and data‐driven modeling approaches are discussed, and a perspective is given on how modeling can aid ...

The Impact of Power Training on Balance and Visual Feedback Removal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Because power training has been known to augment stability, the purpose of this study was to assess whether the removal of visual input affects lower limb muscle power production in young women who are resistance trained to the same degree it affects the

Bio‐Orthogonally Crosslinked Supramolecular Polymer Bottlebrush Hydrogels for Long‐Term 3D Cell Culture

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fibrous benzenetrispeptide (BTP) hydrogels, fabricated via strain‐promoted azide‐alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC) crosslinking, form robust, bioinert networks. These hydrogels can support 3D cell culture, where cell viability and colony growth depend on the fiber content.

Comparison of the Effect of Concurrent Moderate-Intensity Continuous Training and High-Intensity Interval Training with High-Intensity Interval Training Alone on Body Composition, Cortisol and Mental Health of Overweight 16-19-Year-old Male Students [PDF]

open access: yesMajallah-i dānishgāh-i ̒ulūm-i pizishkī-i Arāk
Introduction: Being overweight is associated with increased cortisol secretion, along with heightened anxiety and depression. This study aimed to compare the effect of six weeks of concurrent moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT) and high ...

Effects of Eight Weeks of Moderate-Intensity Continuous and Resistance Training on The Glycogen Synthase Kinase-3 Beta Gene Expression, and Serum Glucose and Insulin Levels in Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetic Rats [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Biomedical Sciences, 2020
Background & Objective: Patients with diabetes have impaired beta cells function and insulin secretion. Exercise training may have a significant role in the improvement of these disorders through the expression of the specific genes.
