The Effect of High Intensity Interval Training and Common Continuous Training on Health-Related Quality of Life in Cardiac Patients with POST-CABG

open access: yesArmaghane Danesh Bimonthly Journal, 2014
Background & aim: Quality of life decreases in cardiac patient and there is a little information about the effect of interval training on this matter. The aim of this study was to compare the eight weeks of high intensity interval training with common ...

Active Learning‐Guided Accelerated Discovery of Ultra‐Efficient High‐Entropy Thermoelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An active learning framework is introduced for the accelerated discovery of high‐entropy chalcogenides with superior thermoelectric performance. Only 80 targeted syntheses, selected from 16206 possible combinations, led to three high‐performance compositions, demonstrating the remarkable efficiency of data‐driven guidance in experimental materials ...

Engineering Bilayer Tandem Catalysts on Si‐Based Photocathodes for High‐performance CO2 Reduction to Produce Methane

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A Cu/Ag‐Cu bilayer tandem catalyst is designed for a pyramid‐structured p‐Si photocathode, creating multiple and functionally distinct interfaces tailored to specific reaction steps and intermediate stabilization. This Cu/Ag‐Cu‐decorated p‐Si photocathode exhibits both high photocurrent and good selectivity for photoelectrochemical CO2 reduction to CH4.

Liquid Metal Microrobots for Magnetically Guided Transvascular Navigation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Liquid metal‐based microrobots combine magnetic steering, intrinsic X‐ray visibility and softness, to navigate blood vessels even against flow. Under clinically relevant magnetic fields, liquid metal microrobots roll along vessel walls, cross endothelial barriers, and accumulate in target tissues.

Comparison of Blood Flow Characteristics in Young Healthy Males between High-Intensity Interval and Moderate-Intensity Continuous Exercise

open access: yesPhysiologia
Researchers have hypothesized that high-intensity interval exercise (HIIE) and moderate-intensity continuous exercise (MOD) lead to different patterns of shear stress in the brachial artery.

Topology and Material Optimization in Ultra‐Soft Magneto‐Active Structures: Making Advantage of Residual Anisotropies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Residual magnetization induces pronounced mechanical anisotropy in ultra‐soft magnetorheological elastomers, shaping deformation and actuation even without external magnetic fields. This study introduces a computational‐experimental framework integrating magneto‐mechanical coupling into topology optimization for designing soft magnetic actuators with ...

A Quasi‐Solid Ionic Liquid‐Polymer Hybrid Electrolyte for Shuttle‐Free and Dendrite‐Free Aqueous Zinc─Bromine Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A quasi‐solid ionic liquid‐polymer hybrid electrolyte is proposed to achieve shuttle‐free and dendrite‐free aqueous Zn─Br batteries. Synergetic effects between Zn2+ selective conduction of polyanionic network and polybromide complexing additive suppress the shuttle effect and improve Zn reversibility.
