Voltammetric characterization of activated carbons in modified carbon paste electrodes
Electroanalysis, 1993AbstractCarbon paste electrodes (CPEs), modified by the addition of small amounts of finely powdered activated carbon (AC) were studied using cyclic (CV) and square wave voltammetry (SWV). Cyclic voltammograms revealed the expected increase in surface area associated with the presence of the activated carbon but did not reveal any specific redox peaks.

Electrochemical behavior of marcellomycin at lipid-modified carbon-paste electrodes
Talanta, 1990A lipid-modified carbon-paste electrode is prepared by mixing phospholipids with the carbon-paste matrix. The resulting electrodes have polar head-groups which allow interactions with positively charged drugs and improved preconcentration/extraction steps.

Voltammetric study of glibenclamide at carbon paste and Sephadex-modified carbon paste electrodes
Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, 2004The oxidative behaviour of the antidiabetic agent glibenclamide on a bare carbon paste electrode (CPE) and a Sephadex-modified carbon paste electrode (SMCPE) was explored by cyclic and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). The analysis procedure consisted of an open circuit accumulation step in stirred sample solution of Britton-Robinson buffer (0.04 ...

ALCOHOL DETERMINATION BY MODIFIED CARBON PASTE ELECTRODES
2023The basis of this alcohol sensor is the oxidation of ethanol by NAD* with alcohol dehydrogenase as the catalyzing enzyme. The NADH formed is detected electrochemically at 700 mV versus a Ag/AgCl-electrode. The electrode used is a carbon paste electrode with the enzyme and the cofactor mixed into the paste. The sensor can be used up to concentrations of

Determination of iron(II) with chemically-modified carbon-paste electrodes
Talanta, 1991The utility of carbon-paste electrodes modified with 2,2'-bipyridyl and Nafion for the differential pulse voltammetric determination of iron(II) in aqueous medium is demonstrated. The method is based on formation of the 2,2'-bipyridyl complex of iron(II) and its accumulation by the Nafion. The differential pulse voltammetric response of the accumulated

Electrochemical behaviour of clenbuterol at nation-modified carbon-paste electrodes
Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, 1995A detailed study of the electrochemistry of clenbuterol at bare carbon-paste electrodes (CPEs) has been carried out. Results showed that clenbuterol undergoes an ECE process. This compound is irreversibly oxidised at high potentials, resulting in the formation of a product which demonstrates quasi-reversible electrochemical behaviour at less positive ...

Electroanalysis at modified carbon-paste electrodes containing natural ionic polysaccharides
Talanta, 1991The strong affinity of natural ionic polysaccharides for certain metal ions is exploited in the design of a new class of voltammetric sensing devices. In particular, carbon-paste electrodes containing pectic and alginic acids are used for the nonelectrolytic collection and subsequent voltammetric determination of copper and lead, respectively.

Amperometric biosensors for glucose based on carbon paste modified electrodes
Talanta, 1991The modification of carbon-paste electrodes by incorporation of the enzyme glucose oxidase (GOD) is described. The resulting probes can be operated as amperometric glucose sensors in the presence or absence of a mediator (1,1'-dimethylferrocene) mixed into the paste.

Biomass-modified carbon paste electrodes for monitoring dissolved metal ions
Talanta, 1998Electrodes were prepared by incorporating dried, nonliving biomass of a common lichen, Ramalina stenospora, and Sphagnum (peat) moss in carbon paste. The electrodes were tested on solutions containing Pb(II) and Cu(II) ions by immersing the electrode in the solution for selected periods of time to accumulate ions.

Chemically modified carbon paste electrodes in voltammetric analysis
Electroanalysis, 1990AbstractA review of chemically modified carbon paste electrodes (CMCPEs) and their use in voltammetric analysis is presented. The different methods of modification as well as the types of interaction between substrate and modifier are discussed. In addition to a survey of the literature (173 references), the scope of and prospects in this field of ...
