Large Amplitude Free Vibration Analysis of Nanobeams Based on Modified Couple Stress Theory
International Journal of Structural Stability and Dynamics, 2021In this study, the large amplitude free vibration of nanobeams based on the modified couple stress theory was developed by using Total Lagrangian finite element formulation. In this study, Timoshenko beam theory has been used in free vibration analysis of nanobeams. Minimal kinematic assumptions have been used to model nanobeams. With this model, free

Axisymmetric Distributions of Thick Circular Plate in a Modified Couple Stress Theory
Journal of Molecular and Engineering Materials, 2015In this paper, the two-dimensional axisymmetric distributions of thick circular plate in modified couple stress theory with heat and mass diffusive sources is investigated. The problem is considered in the context of the theories of thermodiffusion elastic solid with one and two relaxation time developed by Sherief et al. [Int. J. Eng. Sci.

Nonlinear dynamics of a microscale beam based on the modified couple stress theory
Composites Part B: Engineering, 2013Abstract In the present study, the nonlinear resonant dynamics of a microscale beam is studied numerically. The nonlinear partial differential equation governing the motion of the system is derived based on the modified couple stress theory, employing Hamilton’s principle. In order to take advantage of the available numerical techniques, the Galerkin

On the stability of a microbeam conveying fluid considering modified couple stress theory
International Journal of Mechanics and Materials in Design, 2011In this paper, the size-dependent vibrational behavior of a microbeam conveying fluid was investigated using the Modified Couple Stress Theory. For cantilever and clamped-clamped microbeams, the small amplitude vibration equation of the micro-beams was solved using a Galerkin based reduced order model and the effects of material length-scale parameter ...

FREE VIBRATION AND BUCKLING ANALYSIS OF BEAMS WITH A MODIFIED COUPLE-STRESS THEORY
International Journal of Applied Mechanics, 2012A model based on a modified couple stress theory for the free vibration and buckling analyses of beams is presented. The model also incorporates the Poisson's effect and allows the analysis of Timoshenko beams with any arbitrary end boundary condition. The natural frequencies and buckling loads are computed using the Ritz method.

A New Size-Dependent Cylindrical Shell Element Based on Modified Couple Stress Theory
Advances in Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, 2018Summary: In this paper, using modified couple stress theory, a new cylindrical shell element is introduced. Here, using modified couple stress theory in place of classical continuum theory, and using shell model in place of beam model which has been used in previous research, vibrational behavior and buckling behavior of nanotubes is investigated via ...
