Table Based Design for Function Evaluation and Error Correcting Codes

open access: yes, 2012
Lookup-table (LUT)-based method is a common approach used in all kinds of research topics. In this dissertation, we present several new designs for table-based function evaluation and table-based error correcting coding.

Mechanical error estimation in four-bar hyperbolic function mechanisms with tolerances using modified PDA approach

open access: yesEngineering Research Express
Abstract Four-bar mechanisms play a critical role in mechanical design, especially in function generation applications. They are commonly employed across a wide range of systems, from simple mechanical links to sophisticated biomedical devices.

Rapid screening of staphylokinase protein variants using an unpurified cell‐free expression system

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An unpurified cell‐free protein synthesis (CFPS) platform enables rapid functional screening of staphylokinase variants. Direct plasminogen‐activation assays performed in microplate format provide real‐time activity readouts, allowing rapid identification and ranking of variants with improved or reduced fibrinolytic activity without protein ...

Combined 5‐aminolevulinic acid and ferric ammonium citrate treatment promotes hair follicle growth by activating dermal papilla cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
5‐Aminolevulinic acid combined with ferric ammonium citrate (5‐ALA/FAC) stimulates dermal papilla cell activity and promotes hair follicle growth. The treatment enhances ERK and AKT signaling, increases hair‐inductive gene expression, and restores dermal papilla function suppressed by dihydrotestosterone and oxidative stress, resulting in enhanced hair

Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Practical fixed‐time composite‐learning control for full‐state constraint strict‐feedback non‐linear systems: A dynamic regressor extension and mixing based approach

open access: yesIET Control Theory & Applications
A practical fixed‐time composite learning control scheme, by combining dynamic regressor extension and mixing (DREM) parameter identification algorithm and adaptive dynamic surface control (DSC) technique, is proposed for a class of strict‐feedback non ...
