Depression history modulates effects of subthalamic nucleus topography on neuropsychological outcomes of deep brain stimulation for Parkinson’s disease

open access: yesTranslational Psychiatry, 2022
Patients with psychiatric symptoms, such as depression, anxiety, and visual hallucinations, may be at increased risk for adverse effects following deep brain stimulation of the subthalamic nucleus for Parkinson’s disease, but there have been relatively ...

A monolithic MQW InP-InGaAsP-Based optical comb generator [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We report the first demonstration of a monolithic optical-frequency comb generator. The device is based on multi-section quaternary/quaternary eight-quantum-well InP-InGaAsP material in a frequency-modulated (FM) laser design. The modulation is generated

Polynomial Modules Over Macaulay Modules [PDF]

open access: yesCanadian Mathematical Bulletin, 1976
In [2] we introduced a concept of a Macaulay module over a right noetherian ring by saying that all associated primes of the module have the same codimension. That is to say that a module M over a right noetherian ring R is Macaulay if K dim R/P = K dim R/Q for all P, Q ∈ Ass M.

$D$-module and $F$-module length of local cohomology modules [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 2018
Let $R$ be a polynomial or power series ring over a field $k$. We study the length of local cohomology modules $H^j_I(R)$ in the category of $D$-modules and $F$-modules. We show that the $D$-module length of $H^j_I(R)$ is bounded by a polynomial in the degree of the generators of $I$.

Multiplication Modules [PDF]

open access: yesCanadian Mathematical Bulletin, 1979
All rings R considered here are commutative with identity and all the modules are unital right modules. As defined by Mehdi [6] a module MR is said to be a multiplication module if for every pair of submodules K and N of M, K ⊂ N implies K=NA for some ideal A of R. This concept generalizes the well known concept of a multiplication ring.

Microalgae—Sustainable Source for Alternative Proteins and Functional Ingredients Promoting Gut and Liver Health

open access: yesGlobal Challenges, 2023
Dietary proteins derived from animal sources, although containing well‐balanced profiles of essential amino acids, have considerable environmental and adverse health effects associated with the intake of some animal protein‐based products.

Mass Spectrometric Characterization of HSV-1 L-Particles From Human Dendritic Cells and BHK21 Cells and Analysis of Their Functional Role

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2020
Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) is a very common human pathogenic virus among the world’s population. The lytic replication cycle of HSV-1 is, amongst others, characterized by a tripartite viral gene expression cascade, the assembly of nucleocapsids ...

Multi-responsive, flexible, and structurally colored film based on a 1D diffraction grating structure

open access: yesiScience, 2022
Summary: In nature, many organisms (e.g., chameleons) protect themselves by changing their colors in response to environmental changes. Inspired by these organisms, we present a multi-responsive, flexible, and structurally colored hydrogel film with a ...

High frequency activation data used to validate localization of cortical electrodes during surgery for deep brain stimulation

open access: yesData in Brief, 2016
Movement related synchronization of high frequency activity (HFA, 76–100 Hz) is a somatotopic process with spectral power changes occurring during movement in the sensorimotor cortex (Miller et al., 2007) [1].
