An Efficient Index Mapping Algorithm for OFDM-Index Modulation [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
An index mapping algorithm that efficiently associates the subcarrier activation pattern (SAP) or constellation mode pattern (CMP) sequences with the index selecting bit (ISB) sequences is proposed to improve the error performances of two OFDM-`index modulation' (IM) variants, OFDM-`in-phase/quadrature' (IQ)-IM and `coordinate interleaving' (CI ...

Lower Output Voltage Harmonics With Optimum Switching Angles of Single PV-Source Based Reduced Switch Multilevel Inverter Using BWO Algorithm

open access: yesIEEE Access
This paper presents a technique of harmonic minimization from output voltage waveform of a reduced switch Multilevel Inverter (MLI) through an efficient bio inspired metaheuristic algorithm called Black widow optimization (BWO).

Optimized Design and Control for Hybrid MMC With Reduced Capacitance Requirements

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Reducing the capacitance of the sub-modules (SMs) and handling dc short-circuit faults are critical for the economical and reliable operation of modular multilevel converters (MMCs) in high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission systems. To deal with

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Reconstruction of the rate modulation index.

open access: yes, 2015
(A) Reconstruction of the rate function of a single GPi neuron. Top—1 second from the neuron's spike train. Middle—power spectrum of the spike train, presenting a peak at ~14 Hz. Bottom—the reconstructed rate function λ^(t).

Periodic index-modulated plasma waveguide

open access: yesOptics Express, 2009
We demonstrate a wire-obstructed cluster flow technique for making periodically modulated plasma waveguides in hydrogen, nitrogen, and argon with sharp, stable voids as short as 50 microm with a period as small as 200 microm. These gaps persist as the plasma expands for the full lifetime of the waveguide.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

High performance OFDM with index modulation

open access: yesPhysical Communication, 2019
Abstract Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) with index modulation (OFDM-IM), which has been recently proposed as an alternative waveform to classical OFDM, generally achieves lower bit error rate compared to classical OFDM because it is more robust to bit errors by encoding the information in the location of the active subcarriers ...

Filling in the Gap of Eliminating CMV Spikes Under Low Modulation Indices in the SVM Three-Phase Inverters

open access: yesIEEE Access
The high common-mode voltage (CMV) in two-level three-phase inverters will bring many negative effects. Many strategies are studied to reduce the CMV and eliminate the CMV spikes. However, due to the switching dead-time, there is a gap in eliminating CMV
