An effective algorithm for automatic modulation recognition
2014 22nd Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2014Based on the previous studies, this article proposes an effective modulation recognition algorithm which is a combination of Higher Order Cumulants (HOC) and Continues Wavelet Transform (CWT). In the Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) the identification of QAM16, QAM32, QAM64, BPSK, QPSK and PSK8 types of modulation were almost successful.

Recognition of Analogue Modulations
1996The current trend in modern communication systems is the use of digital modulation types rather than the analogue ones. However, the analogue modulations are still in use especially in the third world countries. So, the aim of this chapter is to discuss some of the available analogue modulation recognisers and to introduce some quick and fast ...

Collaborative modulation recognition based on SVM
2010 Sixth International Conference on Natural Computation, 2010In this paper the method of recognizing signals modulated collaboratively by 2ASK, 4ASK, FSK, 2PSK 4PSK and OFDM is presented based on a hierarchical SVM algorithm with five characteristic parameters. Two nodes extract key features separately, and then sent to a center where the modulation types are recognized using the hierarchical SVM classifier ...

An improved algorithm for PRI modulation recognition
2017 IEEE International Conference on Signal Processing, Communications and Computing (ICSPCC), 2017In modern electronic warfare, it is a severe challenge for the Electronic Support Measure (ESM) system to realize the recognition of the threat radiation source, the modulation of the pulse repetition interval (PRI) is closely related to the function and application of the radar radiation source.

Speech recognition using the modulation model
IEEE International Conference on Acoustics Speech and Signal Processing, 1993A set of features and classification metric based on the modulation model (MM) for speech recognition are presented. The MM decomposes speech into amplitude and frequency modulated components. Computer simulations are presented that demonstrate the robustness to aging of the MM-based features when these features are employed for speech recognition. >

Application of the modulation model to speech recognition
[Proceedings] ICASSP-92: 1992 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 1992A novel method of characterizing speech signals is presented in which the signal is modeled in terms of the mean radian frequency, the amplitude modulating function and the frequency modulating function of each frequency domain component (i.e., formants).

Comparison of modulation features for phoneme recognition
2010 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing, 2010In this paper, we compare several approaches for the extraction of modulation frequency features from speech signal using a phoneme recognition system. The general framework in these approaches is to decompose the speech signal into a set of sub-bands.

Normalization of Modulation Features for Speaker Recognition
2007 15th International Conference on Digital Signal Processing, 2007features are emerging as a more recent alternative to more conventional magnitude-based features for speech processing applications such as speaker recognition. Frequency modulation (FM) based features are one such example and in this paper their normalization using feature warping is examined in detail.

A Deep Learning approach for Modulation Recognition
2018 IEEE 23rd International Conference on Digital Signal Processing (DSP), 2018Communication signal modulation recognition refers to a process of automatically processing a received signal and determining its modulation type. As an intermediate part of signal detection and demodulation, modulation recognition technology plays an important role in a variety of civilian and military applications such as cognitive radio, electronic ...

Automatic modulation recognition of digitally modulated signals
IEEE Military Communications Conference, 'Bridging the Gap. Interoperability, Survivability, Security', 2003A modulation recognizer that automatically reports modulation types of constant-envelope modulated signals is developed using zero-crossing techniques. The zero-crossing sampler, as a signal conditioner, has the advantage of providing accurate phase transition information over a wide dynamic frequency range.
