To examine the factors in different moisture content of rice according to rice grain texture, the studies were undertaken to clarify the relationship between the moisture content measured by the several drying methods at different temperatures and the grain texture of several varieties. The results are summarized as follows. 1. Globe of fat, crystal of

Abruptly changing from aerobic to anaerobic conditions (sudden anaerobization) induced growth inhibition and a significant increase in intracellular labile ferrous iron in the aerotolerant anaerobe Amphibacillus xylanus. We found that free flavins mediate efficient electron transfer from NADH to ferric iron under anaerobic conditions, suggesting that ...

THE EFFECTS OF WATER CONTENT VARIATION ON ADHESION FACTOR OF PILE FOUNDATION IN EXPANSIVE SOIL [PDF]
Seasonal change causes variations in soil moisture content. On expansive soil, this condition influences soil moisture content in the active zone, which is approximately in five meters depth.

The biogenic content of process streams from mechanical-biological treatment plants producing solid recovered fuel. Do the manual sorting and selective dissolution determination methods correlate? [PDF]
The carbon emissions trading market has created a need for standard methods for the determination of biogenic content (chi(B)) in solid recovered fuels (SRF).

TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.

Experimental Study on Determining Unsaturated Property of Soil
This paper deals with the experimental study of hydraulic properties of unsaturated soil. In treating unsaturated zone, a great deal more data are required than are required for the saturated zone, but these properties of soils must be known to apply the
