A STUDY ON THE SORPTION ISOTHERM AND SHELF LIFE OF INTERMEDIATE-MOISTURE BANANA (IMB) [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
Water vapour sorption isotherm of intermediate moisture banana (IMB) was studied by means of Saturated salt solution technique at 22.2C. The desoprtion and adsorption isotherms of IMB were sigmoid shape and indicate a hysteresis loop.

Application of artificial neural network and general machine learning modelling on CO2 adsorption in moisture equilibrated South African high and medium rank coals

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract This study investigates the effect of moisture on CO2 adsorption in South African coals using both experimental and machine learning approaches. Three coal samples (SL, TN, and EM) with varying ranks (RoVmr: 3.49%, 1.26%, and 0.64%, respectively) were collected from different regions of South Africa.

Table_2_Seed Moisture Isotherms, Sorption Models, and Longevity.XLSX

open access: yes, 2022
Seed moisture sorption isotherms show the equilibrium relationship between water content and equilibrium relative humidity (eRH) when seeds are either losing water from a hydrated state (desorption isotherm) or gaining water from a dry state (adsorption ...

Using dynamic dewpoint isotherms to determine the optimal storage conditions of inert dust-treated hard red winter wheat

open access: yesGrain & Oil Science and Technology, 2020
Water-solid interactions play a key role in determining the efficacy of inert dusts. The critical water activity (Awc) for phase transition in amorphous materials is an important characteristic of amorphous inert dusts used as grain protectants. As water

Bio‐Derived Carbon Nanoparticles: A Green Amendment for Alleviating Heavy Metals in Soil–Plant Systems

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Heavy metal (HM) contamination of soil–plant systems poses persistent ecological and health risks, driving interest in nanoparticle‐based remediation. Although conventional chemically synthesized nanoparticles (CSNPs) are effective, their energy‐intensive production and residual toxicity limit sustainable deployment.
