Blow Molding, Rotational Molding, and Other Molding Operations
1995A number of molding operations other than injection molding are used in polymer processing. These include blow molding, rotational molding, transfer molding, and compression molding. Some of their advantages and disadvantages, together with those of injection molding, are listed in Table 9–1.

Infectious Disease Clinics of North America, 2016
Dematiaceous fungi are the cause of phaeohyphomycosis, a term that encompasses many clinical syndromes, from local infections due to trauma to widely disseminated infection in immunocompromised patients. These fungi are unique owing to the presence of melanin in their cell walls, which imparts the characteristic dark color to their spores and hyphae ...

Mold flow of sheet molding compound
Advanced Composite Materials, 1993Mold flow of sheet molding compound (SMC) is investigated by using a rectangular mold of 500 x 1000 mm attached with some sensors at various points in the mold and using a 500 ton press with a leveling control device. Molding conditions and the compositions of SMC are varied in order to investigate the mold flow.

The Modelling of Mold Filling in Resin Transfer Molding
International Polymer Processing, 1986Abstract The resin transfer moulding process (RTM) allows the industrial production of large FRP parts. In this technique layers of reinforcements (mats, woven rovings) are inserted into the mold cavity and resin is injected to fill the closed mold applying external pressure. Due to the strong interdependence between mold design, filling

Cooling the molds of glass-molding machinery
Glass and Ceramics, 1982Attention has previously been given [i] to the questions associated with the thermal state of the glass-molding tool during work, to the heat exchange between the glass (or gob) and the mold, and also to calculations of the thickness of the walls of the molds.

Effect of molding parameters on compression molded sheet molding compounds parts
Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 1997Abstract A detailed experimental study was carried out to determine the effects of molding variables on the physical and mechanical properties of compression molded SMC (sheet molding compounds) parts. Simple compression tests using grease oil and mylar sheet as a lubricant at various temperatures were examined in characterizing the complex effect of

Compression molding is among the oldest materials processing techniques. For plastics, it was one of the first industrial methods, and is also known as matched die molding. The basic process consists of heating a thermoset resin, under severe pressure, within a closed mold cavity until the resin cures through a chemical reaction of cross-linking ...
