THE EVOLUTION OF MOLECULAR CLOUDS

open access: yes, 2014
[[abstract]]Molecular clouds constitute the densest parts of the interstellar medium in galax- ies, and ever since their discovery 25 years ago they have been of prime interest as the sites of star formation.

CONSTRAINING SULFUR ISOTOPE ABUNDANCES IN MOLECULAR CLOUDS: A METEORITIC PERSPECTIVE

open access: yes
Carbonaceous chondrite class meteorites exhibit isotopic enrichments in deuterium, $^{13}$C, $^{15}$N, and possibly $^{33}$S, implying interstellar origins.

Endoplasmic Reticulum Geometry Dictates Neuronal Bursting via Calcium Store Refill Rates and Exposes Selective Neuronal Vulnerability

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The ER's continuous tubular network is maintained by ER‐shaping proteins whose mutation or dysregulation contributes to neurodegenerative diseases. Here, we show that ER morphology sets the speed of Ca2+ store replenishment between firing events. Disrupting ER continuity slows intra‐ER Ca2+ redistribution from extracellular refill (SOCE) sites, driving

Kinematics of H I Envelopes Associated with Molecular Clouds

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
We investigate the evolution of molecular clouds through the kinematics of their atomic hydrogen (H I ) envelopes, using ^12 CO and 21 cm emission to trace the molecular and atomic gas, respectively.

Hydrogen (H2) Recovery From Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S): Current Technologies, Challenges, and Future Outlook

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) can be transformed into hydrogen (H2) through several chemical and catalytic processes, offering a promising route for both waste treatment and clean H2 production. This colorless, flammable, and toxic gas is found abundantly in swamps, volcanoes, hot springs, sewages, other natural gas fields, and even in refineries and

MetalCenter‐Dependent Selectivity Divergence in MN4 Single‐Atom Catalysts for Aerobic HMF Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Two single‐atom catalysts with M‐N4 configurations (FeN4 and CoN4) were developed for selective HMF oxidation. FeN4 achieves 93.9% selectivity toward FFCA via superoxide anions (O2•−), while CoN4 preferentially produces FDCA through hydroxyl radicals (•OH). DFT calculations reveal that distinct adsorption energies and charge redistribution at the metal

A Comprehensive All-sky Catalog of 3345 Molecular Clouds from Three-dimensional Dust Extinction

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
Understanding the distribution and properties of molecular clouds is crucial for tracing the structure and evolution of the interstellar medium (ISM) and the large-scale morphology of the Milky Way.

Sustainable Materials Design With Multi‐Modal Artificial Intelligence

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Critical mineral scarcity, high embodied carbon, and persistent pollution from materials processing intensify the need for sustainable materials design. This review frames the problem as multi‐objective optimization under heterogeneous, high‐dimensional evidence and highlights multi‐modal AI as an enabling pathway.

Star-forming substructure within molecular clouds

open access: yes, 2012
Wide-field far-infrared/submillimeter continuum maps of molecular clouds by the Herschel Space Observatory GBS and HOBYS surveys are revealing the star-forming substructures that lead to star formation in dense gas.

Spontaneous Non‐Catalyzed Molecular Reactions and Interactions in the Human Body: Biomedical Implications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The human body functions as a natural reactor for a vast network of chemical and biological reactions and physical interactions among small molecules, proteins, cells, and numerous other components. These reactions/interactions are essential for maintaining normal physiological functions.
