On the Roles of Gravity, Turbulence, and the Magnetic Field in Angular Momentum Transfer within Molecular Clouds

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Observations of molecular structures on scales of ∼0.1−50 pc show that the specific angular momentum ( j ) scales with radius ( R ) as j  ∼  R ^3/2 .

Star formation in molecular clouds

open access: yes, 2015
textThere has been many recent observations in the area of star formation. High-resolution observations of other galaxies enabled a study of extragalactic star formation in more detailed while large scale surveys of the Milky Way enabled a more ...

Star formation in evolving molecular clouds

open access: yes, 2017
Molecular clouds are the principle stellar nurseries of our universe; they thus remain a focus of both observational and theoretical studies. From observations, some of the key properties of molecular clouds are well known but many questions regarding ...

Frustrated Lewis Pairs and Metallic Ni Synergistically Enabled Low‐Temperature Hydrogenolysis of Lignin Models

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nickel–aluminum composite oxide (NiAlOx‐300) derived from NiAl layered double hydroxide showed high activity for hydrogenolysis of various lignin models. Especially, hydrogenolysis of benzyl phenyl ether could be efficiently proceeded at 20°C and 1 MPa H2.

Turbulent Pressure Heats Gas and Suppresses Star Formation in Galactic Bar Molecular Clouds

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The Central Molecular Zone (CMZ) of the Milky Way is fed by gas inflows from the Galactic disk along almost radial trajectories aligned with the major axis of the Galactic bar.

Molecular Clouds in W49 and W51 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1973
Radio observations of six molecular lines have been obtained in the W49 and W51 H ii region sources as part of an investigation of the physical conditions in molecular clouds and the relationship of these clouds to the H ii regions.

Liquid Metal Nanotransformers for Drug‐Resistant Pan‐Cancer Therapy in Patient‐Derived Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pan‐cancer therapies are severely limited in drug‐resistance patients due to genetic mutations and other factors, resulting in poor therapeutic outcomes and constrained clinical benefit. Liquid metal nanotransformers, a new class of shape‐transformable nanomaterials capable of dramatic morphological changes, offer a promising physical strategy to ...

High-velocity Molecular Clouds in M83

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
High-velocity clouds (HVCs), which are gas clouds moving at high velocity relative to the galactic disk, may play a critical role in galaxy evolution, potentially supplying gas to the disk and triggering star formation.
